Beltran, Yankees pound Mariners for the sweep

Bronx - Carlos Beltran clubbed two home runs, and a timely two run double by Brian McCann powered the Yankees to a sweep of the Seattle Mariners. The Mariners bats did get going in this one with two home runs by Corey Hart, and also a solo shot by Robinson Cano, but it was not enough to hold off the Yankee onslaught. There was also a scary moment in the sixth inning as Brett Gardner lined one right off the head of starter James Paxton, and he had to be removed from the game. Paxton has been the Mariners most consistent starter so far this year, and now is facing some DL time. The Mariners will try to get their bearings straight against the team that started this downward spiral for them, as they head to Houston to take on the Astros. It will be Taijuan Walker (2-2, 3.21 ERA) matching up with Alex White (2-1, 5.02 ERA).
