2014 Seattle Seahawks Week 1 Preview

The Seattle Seahawks kickoff the 2014 season by welcoming the Cleveland Browns to CenturyLink Field. The Browns are rolling out a new Starting quarterback for the opener in Jason Campbell, and are coming off a good run to end 2013. The scrappy Browns may suprise some teams in 2014 so the Seahawks will need to be on their toes in this one.

Game Notes
Seattle leads the all-time series 11-6 against the Cleveland Browns, but only 2-2 against the current reincarnation. The Browns also won the last meeting between the two teams, a sloppy 6-3 game at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Players to Watch:

Offense:

Hakeem Nicks - WR: The prize of the Browns off-season. Cleveland hopes that Nicks can finally be the big time WR they've been lacking. With big play threat Josh Gordon on the other side, Nicks should be able to put up similar numbers as his New York Giants days playing opposite Victor Cruz.

Defense:

Joe Haden - CB: Haden has become one of the top cornerbacks in the game today. On the same level as the Sherman's and Revis' of the world. The Seahawks more than likely will have one half of the field shut off to them on Sunday.

Prediction: As we said at the top, this Browns team is going to surprise some people this year. They have a very under the radar defense that is one of the best in the league, and the addition of Nicks should open up their passing game. However I'm not sure that Jason Campbell is the man to exploit that opening, and against a top defense like the Hawks, I can't see him putting his team over the top.
