2013 Seattle Seahawks Conference Championships Preview
Posted on October 3, 2013 at 03:38 PM.

For the first time in history, the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers will meet in the playoffs, and it will be all on the line in this one, as the winner of this game will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl in two weeks. This matchup will be the culmination of what has become the greatest rivalry in the NFL. The two teams split their match ups during the regular season, and it's now only fitting that the rubber match will be for all the marbles.

Game Notes
The Seahawks are 1-0 all time in NFC Championship games, and 1-1 all time in Conference championship games as they lost the AFC Championship game in 1983. This marks the 49ers 15th appearance all time in conference championship games. They are 6-8 in those contests, and won it last year. Even with their heated rivalry this will be the first ever playoff meeting between the two teams.

Players to Watch:

Offense:

Colin Kaepernick - QB: It will all be on the tatooed shoulders of Kaepernick to get the 49ers back to the Super Bowl. His previous trips to CenturyLink Field have not been pleasant, but he will have to overcome those demons if he wants to take his team to the promised land.

Defense:

Patrick Willis - MLB: The premier player on the premier defense in the league. He will be keyed on stopping Marshawn Lynch on Sunday which he did a fine job of last time these two met.

Prediction: These two teams are pretty much dead even. They had the two best records in the NFL, and each beat each other at home this year. That factor is really the only difference I can see in this game, and will carry the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl since 2005.
Seahawks 24, 49ers 20
