Hawks Use 2nd Half Rally to Stun Niners

Seattle - The Seahawks capitalized on timely turnovers by their defense, and even though they gave up over 500 yards of total offense Sunday night, found a way to rally big in the 2nd half for a 34-26 win over the rival 49ers. Trailing by 13 entering half the Seahawks got a boost with a big kickoff return by Percy Harvin to open up the half. After settling for a field goal, the Seahawks defense forced a Frank Gore fumble, one of two on the day for the 49ers running back. Russell Wilson was able to quickly then find his tight end Zach Miller for one of his 3 touchdown passes on the night, and suddenly Seattle found themselves right back in it, despite getting dominated on the ground by San Francisco. Frank Gore rushed for over 200 yards in this one, but after his 2nd fumble, Coach Jim Harbaugh sat the back down despite his big night. The 49ers could not punch the ball in the end zone in the 2nd half instead settling for 2 field goals to push the lead back in their favor, but then it was Percy Harvin time. The prized acquisition of the off-season for Seattle paid huge dividends in this one as Wilson found him for a 43 yard catch and run for a TD, showing off the skills that made Seattle give up a first and third round pick for the receiver, and giving the Hawks their first lead of the game with less than 2 minutes to go. The Niners couldn't rally, and they ended up leaving Seattle empty handed once again. The Seahawks stay at home this week and host the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday at CenturyLink Field.
