Provo, UT -- Coming into this BYU- Colorado State game, you expected a hard faught game, CSU didn't have a gimme game but they did walk away with a 27-19 victory.

CSU QB Klay Kubiak has had better games this season, as he was 10 for 20 with 182 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions. The lone bright spot for the CSU offense was Freshman Andre Gill who caught two touchdown passes as he surprised BYU with his underrated speed. Gill was named player of the game."I was only on the field for a handful of plays, but to come away with two touchdown catches, felt amazing." Gill commented.

The Rams defense was lead by CB Immanuel Mitchell who returned an interception for the winning touchdown.

For BYU, they were lead by Junior QB Jake Heaps who was 25 of 34 passing for 288 yards and 3 touchdowns, with 1 interception. Jr WR Marcus Matthews had 10 receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

Bad news for BYU as they lost starting HB Joshua Quezada for the season with a torn shoulder muscle.

CSU coach Drew Gill said following the game,"Klay (Kubiak) has really matured this year. After stepping in for Thomas and leading us to a 9 and 1 record, he now holds the CSU single season touchdown passes record, as today he collected his twentieth TD pass. I know that he didn't have a great outings today, but nonetheless we came away with the win, and owe a lot of that to him."

"We've got a shot at first place in the MWC when we play Utah in a couple weeks. That's all we could ask for coming into this year. I should be all healed up and ready to go for the Utes." Injured WR Byron Steele said.
