Fort Collins, CO -- Colorado State played a hard faught game and came away with a 55-41 win in the Border War versus Wyoming.

Colorado State had a record setting 4th quarter as they scored 42 points in the 4th quarter for the come from behind victory. The first half of the game was a fight in the trenches as neither team offered much up, until the final minute of the half when Wyoming scored 17 points off of two interceptions and a fumble. The 4rd quarter layed like the first half, then coach Drew Gill gathered his team in a huddle and motivated them to put on the performance of a lifetime in the 4th quarter. CSU managed to tie things up only a 1:34 into the quarter and then scored three more touchdowns a minute apart each as their defense was forcing turnovers on each possession. Coach Gill pulled his starters which allowed Wyoming to score twice quickly, however the backups gained composure and put up another score to end out the game.

Player of the game went to CSU QB Klay Kubiak who was 19 of 34 passing for 347 yards with 4 TD's and 2 interceptions. Sr WR Lou Greenwood had 114 yards and 2 touchdowns receiving, Byron Steele and Bernard Blake also had TD catches for the Rams. Carlos Washington returned from injury to rush for 44 yards and two touchdowns, while his fill in while he missed the past few games Chris Nwoke added a touchdown and 25 yards.

"I hope no one left after the third quarter, as they would have missed something truely special. We hung in there through three quarters then came alive in the 4th, on both sides of the ball." Greenwood commented after the game.

The CSU defense was led by Davis Burl who applied pressure to the QB all day and walked away with 4 tackles for a loss including one sack. Others with sacks include Sr DE James Skelton, Sr DE Broderick Sargent, Fr CB TJ Brown, Fr DT Courtney McCarthy. Fr CB Christian Walter also recorded an interception in the 4th quarter.

Pete Kontodiakos made a career long 57 yard field goal in the 1st quarter and also added anoth 44 yarder and 7 XP to his season total. "My leg felt great today, it was nice and lose and with the wind I was kicking kickoffs out of the endzone so I knew I could kick field goals from close to midfield today."

Wyoming starting QB Austyn Carta Samuels was injured in the first quarter and couldn't return to the game, backup Jr QB Emory Miller Jr did fill in nicely though as he was 23-43 for 362 yards with 4 TDs and 1 INT.

ESPN commentator Desomnd Howard commented that this may very well go down as one of the best games of the year, as we saw a hard trench battle for one half, followed by a couple of mistakes which one team capitalized on, then a team go off for 6 TD's in a quarter which he can't remember ever seeing before.
