Colorado State Football Dynasty 2012 game 4

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Colorado State continued their winning ways this season with a convincing 32-3 win over New Mexico.

Senior QB Klay Kubiak passed for 173 yards on 13-27 attempts with 3 touchdowns and one interception. Carlos Washington continued to be a force on the ground running for 114 yards today while Chris Nwoke added another 63. Junior TightEnd Matt Weems caught two touchdown passes as the defense left him alone when the Rams got within the 5 yard line.

Defensively CSU was led by a pair of freshman, DT Courtney McCarthy had 6 tackles, 4 for a loss and one sack, while Safety Keith Harper had4 tackles, one for a loss and a fumble recovery.

Player of the game was awarded to Pete Kontodiakos for kicking 3-3 field goals along with 3 XP. Incl,uding a long field goal of 49 yards."The offense gave me a nice position on the field each time as they tried to get me lined up in the middle of the field. I just had to kick it straight, the wind did help me in pulling a couple of the kicks around the post for me."

New Mexico was a mess today as QB Tarean Austin was 4 for 15 for 68 yards and one interception. Demond Dennis rushed for 81 yards on 19 attempts, as they managed only 130 total yards of offense in the rain, compared to 341 by CSU.

"I was a little worried in the early stages of the game as we were both going 3 and outs, however in the second quarter we started to make some progress with the offense, and connect on some of the crucial 3rd downs." CSU coach Drew Gill commented.

CSU will visit TCU next week, in one of the marquee matchups in the MWC this season.
