Denver -- The Rocky Mountain Showdown was another close matchup this year as Colorado won over Colorado State 25-22.

CSU led 14-12 going into halftime after a 47 yard pass from QG Thomas to Marcus Law and a 4 yard TD run by Raymond Carter, and CU touchdowns by Stewert on a 94 yard run and a 32 yard pass from Hansen to Espinoza.

The third quarter saw two more touchdowns from Colorado; a 4 yard pass to Slavin and an interception by Webb which was returned 86 yards for a TD with no time left on the clock.

The 4th quarter belonged to the Rams who scored by a 31 yard pass from Thomas to Weems to pull within 3. If there had been a little more time on the clock, CSU would have had a great chance at tying or winning the game as the momentum and crowd had shifted to their favour.

For CSU, QB Pete Thomas had 242 yard passing on 16-28 attempts with 2 TDs and two Interceptions. The run didn�t amount to much as Washington and Carter combined for 46 yards.

For CU, QB Tyler Hansen passed for 236 yards on 18 of 27 attempts with 2 TDs and no interceptions. HB Rodney Stewart ran for 165 yards. On defense MLB Serrick Webb had 9 tackles, 3 for a loss and an interception returned for a TD

CSU Coach Drew Gill said, I don�t think we were fully prepared for this game. We had a few position battles in camp that weren�t finalized and they took advantage of those players who haven�t seen enough time for us with the 1st team in practice.
