Buggy. Poorly thought out. Developer defensive about user feedback and suggestions/criticism. Code not written by someone who understand hockey.

Worst thing is feature set was drastically diminished from pre-order beta version. Editing, the staple of OOTP, has been almost eliminated (for the sake of "stability"). Classic bait-and-switch.

As many have said before me, this game just isn't ready for the big time (and especially not the big-time price tag that it comes with). It is incredibly bugging and graphically disappointing. The free range of customization options that OOTP Developments have become famous for are severely lacking. The strategy element just isn't there for me, either -- no coaches, very few financials, and lines that I'm not sure make a difference. For all I knew, I could have been playing a sim of a newly invented sport with no rules. That's how little engagement this game gave me with the sport of hockey.

Am I comparing it to OOTP baseball? Probably, but that's the standard they set for a $30-50 product, depending on the sale season. I'm sure this game will get there eventually, but this product is nowhere close.
