Live is better this year..but Can you really say that Live is the best basketball game in this year..I think NO! Maybe some improvement make it look better, but Still doing the same thing, the game doesn't change in deep! so, the game have changed..but because NBA live 2009 isn't good..More work on gameplay, quit doin' the same thing in offense, and the game will be a real opponent for 2k..Now they better concentrate their work on gameplay, because 2k don't give up.

Uneven experience. Live10 does several things that are grounbreaking. It also does several things that lead to controller-breaking.

Manual dribble moves are fluid and intuitive, and the locomotion feels great. You can really feel the difference between a speedy PG and lumbering PF. The passing is also sublime. The way the mo-capped leaners and step backs look will blow you away at times.

Live10 also has tons of quirks and clunkiness though. There is no off-ball defensive pressure on the perimeter, the rebounding is aweful, and the post game is bare bones. Worst of all, Live features a game momentum system that is extremely blatant and heavy-handed. You can run all of your pretty little plays, but if the CPU decides it's time for your team to suck for a while...your team is going to suck for awhile..right about the same time the CPU suddenly starts killing it circus style. Get used to that.

If you're one of those folks who have always dreamed of a game that used AI crutches to beat cheezy noobs, though...this is your dream game. There is little to no penetration without perfect execution of a play, And-1 dribble moves against a mismatch, or the all-powerful pump fake. Every defender in the paint is Bill Rusell.

While the sentiment that tougher penetration is appreciated, creating over powered ball defenders and forcing physical contests at the rim detracts from the positives. It's cool that Live makes guys who pound the ball with one guy and spam the lane pay a heavy penalty. The Live "rules" are written in blood, and some ballers will love that concrete discipline, as it changes the way you think about how to play video game basketball. However, the actual sport doesn't exist by those same laws. Ron Artest does not get a strip every single time a non PG dares put the ball on the floor in front of him, lol.

Live is definitely aimed at frustrated sim players who needed help against cheese. Unfortunately that help comes at the expense of balanced gameplay, IMO. Fun game though. I hope the comp can adopt some of their innovations...

I played the demo. The offense feels really good and the dribble moves are fun and easy to use. Just makes it pretty easy to break your defender down. Feels more arcade like and seems more of a 1-0n-1 game. The NBA has become more of a 5-on-5 game and the demo didn't represent that at all. You could just score with one player and win the game. However, it is a big improvement over Live 09 demo, which is good for the live fans.
