Edited: This game still lacks a realistic physics engine for a "football sim". You can change directions as if you are playing an arcade game like Tecmo Bowl(a game I loved). It feels like you are playing with a D-pad instead of an analog stick( only 2 angles, 90 degrees and 45 degrees). The camera does not zoom into the ball on pass plays making it difficult to confidently want to take control of WR or DB to make a play on deep passes ( hard to tell were you are in relation to the ball. You end up watching the game instead of playing it). This is handled very well in All-Pro 2K8. Stiff arm being controlled by one button totally dumbs down decisive control. Even Madden 03 had the feeling weight momentum when controlling the players. All-Pro 2K8 has best physics engine to date on next gen systems thus far. It must be too technical for EA to emulate the 2K8 engine just like the sliding of EA B-ball games can't match the movement found in 2K B-ball games. Physics engine must be revamped to satisfy sim heads who played or understand real football. EA deserves tight scrutiny if they are to be only NFL product to provide us with a football sim. They have created their own pressure from football video gamers. I rate Madden 10 a 7.5 out of 10 due to actual game play. Pretty graphics with non-sim movement.

a lot of issues are even more pressing like the tackle stats glitch, the flats, persuit angles, lack of pancake blocks, OLB sacks etc. etc.

Probably the best Madden to date but suffers from a dearth of options (create a play, custom playbooks, in game saves, etc) as well as having game issues such as the dl/ol interaction, rb flats, franchise salary cap, imported rookie classes, among other things.

Fairly fun to play, probably worth the purchase, similar let downs year after year.
