Oh, it's fun to go back and look at these games again. ESPN NFL 2k5 was incredible. I remember when I brought the game home. We were still waiting a month for Madden to come out and I decided to take a shot on this $20 game (20 bucks. What I wouldn't give to only pay that today...). I was blown away. It looked so realistic, and the presentation was so incredible that my folks thought we were watching a real game.

The gameplay itself was also really good. A bit slower than Madden perhaps, but not any worse, and it had its own charms.

Yes, there were bugs, and in fact there were a few that I'm sure would have people in an uproar if they occurred in our precious sports games today. But they can't take away this game's greatness. Oh ESPN NFL 2k5, how I long for thee!

A true shame that we are not playing NFL 2K9 right now. This game has actually gotten better over the years while Madden has gone down the Toilet.

Best football game to date(2009).

2k5 and tecmo bowl are both legends of there time. No game (Madden)has been able to near that of 2k5. EA Fan boys eat your heart out!

Edited: THE BEST FOOTBALL GAME BAR NONE!!!!!!!!!!! Its gonna get regular play for decades to come if 2k football is never to return

For its time, the best football game available. It wasn't perfect (clipping bug, DB wonkiness, franchise issues), but it got so much else of football right.
