New Title: Help for Expansion Draft

After reading all of your ideas, I think the best way right now is to do an expansion draft. I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread now.

Re: Fun Franchise Ideas

I once drafted a team of *******s. Seems like that could be fun for you, since Altuve would be such a good fit.

I don't know if he did one for '22, but if so, Bacon does a fictional roster which may be something to try. You would control one team, get invested in them, without having a pool of actual players where you would be predisposed to take particular players.

Last I heard, the Bacon roster was not going to be done on '22....or at the very least, really delayed.

To the OP, a couple of thoughts:

You could do a fantasy draft, but allow the CPU to make all of the picks for you and don't allow yourself to make any trades for a while. You'll get a roster you may not exactly like and it will get you out of a comfort zone. Finding a way of coexisting with a roster that is not to your tastes can be quite rewarding.

Also, playing the mode "differently" than you usually do can be a terrific change of pace. If you're normally a 30-team control guy, do a single team control with GM contracts on. If you're normally a person that skips games, play them all.

The biggest key though, if you're in a rut, is to get out of your typical "comfort zone". A lot of people that feel burned-out or are looking for something "fun" tend to also throw-in a statement like, "well I always play franchise this way.....". And....therein lies the rub.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I've tried Bacon's before.

I usually let the computer draft then trade instantly because there are certain guys I just don't want because of who they are. Haha

I just started to play with quick counts cause it makes it run better. I miss building the Stros team up when they were awful and losing 100 a year and their farm system was awful. It was all real teams though.

If I trade everyone out of the organization, I'm not sure how to keep the rest of the teams more realistic.

What about doing 30 team control but then picking a game each day of the calendar year to play. Not necessarily one team, but like a game of the week, or a game that intrigues you due to the teams involved, the stadium involved, or the pitching matchup?

And if along the way you find yourself becoming invested in one team, then just continue to play as that team.
