Lynn Lauren

Coaching Carousal Keeps on Revolving!
Neil Callaway era ends in Birmingham.

As unceremoniously as it began, it has inevitably come to an end.
Neil Callaway is out as head coach of our beloved UAB Blazers.

Citing his lowly 11-39 record, Athletic Director Brian Mackin had informed Callaway of his decision to seek a leader, and face of the UAB football program over the weekend, while visiting with Neil at his home.

“This University, this program, and these young men, are incredibly grateful to Mr. Callaway and everything he has poured into this program; unfortunately, this hasn’t translated into victories, so a change was desperately needed. We all wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.”

Mackin will now officially begin his search for the new head coach to lead the Balzers into the 2010 season, and beyond.

Good Luck Mr. Mackin.......you're going to need it.
