Franchise: too many sub-.200 batting averages

Hi all- I know batting averages are down in general, but every team I face in franchise has one, two and sometimes three players batting under .200 (sometimes batting 3rd or 4th). Is everyone having this issue or Is there something I can do to address simmed stats? Thanks in advance!

Re: Franchise: too many sub-.200 batting averages

I sim with CPU Starter and Reliever Stamina at 4 to bump up the offensive a little while keeping it in line with real MLB stats. I just have to remember to switch between my gameplay and simming slider sets.

The problem with simming with default sliders is the pitching is too strong. Scoring is way low and too many complete games are thrown. CPU pitcher stamina and manager hook does affect sims.

You talking 10-20 games in or 150? Makes quite a difference. But no not seeing this.

How far into the season are you?

Early in the season, you'll see more sub-.200 averages since low sample size inhibits regression to the mean. You'll see more high batting averages as well. Best way to tell if you're roster is producing proper results is to sim a season and look at the year end totals.

That’s a LOT of swimming. Be sure to take a break every so often. Your arms might start looking like popeye.

Well, in fairness to The Show, real life MLB average and scoring is at an all-time low this year. The league average is currently at .232. That's the lowest in MLB history.
