Too many Complete Game Shutouts?

I am not quite two weeks into my franchise season, and so far the league has seen 10 CG shutouts. There were 29 total last season in the MLB. I noticed that just about every game I played, there was one or two CG notifications on the ticker.

Not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but hopefully it can get toned down rather than finish a season with an absurd number of shutouts. (Never minding the fact that almost all of them came on the pitcher's first outing of the year)

Re: Too many Complete Game Shutouts?

I have 7 thus far nearing the end of April.

Curious to see if trend continues for the next month or if it levels out.

It seems like it has been that way for a few years now. I rarely get one when playing games, but it seems to happen in more often in simulated games

I don’t think there’s any more this year than normal. I think we just notice it now because it’s in big bold letters at the bottom of the screen.

Re: Too many Complete Game Shutouts?

Its always been an issue since I can remember. The trend IRL is going down, but MLBTS it hasn't. I know they have ways to calm the numbers, but if your looking for IRL numbers, it just wont happen without at very least fast managing every game, every day. Even if you sim days with staminas 0/0 it still happens way to much.

Franchise SIM is dead. Find your favorite iterations and play it forever. Card games are whats "now" and games will cater in that direction and forget realism.

Just have fun and play :)

Re: Too many Complete Game Shutouts?

It’s another legacy issue that has been plaguing this series for years and years.

Use different slider sets when simulating, give the starters only 1/10 stamina. This will fix the issue most of the time.

Re: Too many Complete Game Shutouts?

Over the years, I've used these specific sliders for simmed games.

CPU Starter Stamina 4
CPU Reliever Stamina 4
CPU Manager Hook 6

This cuts the complete games/shutouts way down and also boost the offense slightly. On default, the pitching is too strong and not enough runs are scored.
