Elden Ring

I want to start this thread because Elden Ring is less then two weeks away.

The Souls games tend to be a bit niche, but they have grown in popularity over the years. I have been excited for Elden Ring since it’s world premiere at E3 back in 2018.

I’ve been keeping up on Elden Ring news and all signs point to this being a game for the ages. For those of you who haven’t played the souls genre, this might be the time to dive in.

Is this made to take advantage of next generation consoles or will it simply be an upgrade from PS4/XboxOne? If it’s made for both generations I’ll probably have to pass on it.

Can’t decide if I want to get this on PS5 or XBOX Series X. I know the PS5 will have dual sense, but I can play the XBOX version 16 hours earlier.

Review embargo ended at 10am EST. YouTube is flooding with reviews. Metacritic has it as a 96. Opted for the XBOX version so I can play at 8am EST tomorrow morning. I can’t wait! This will be my first FromSoft game.

Reviews are crazy good. 97 right now on almost 40 PS5 reviews.

My big concern is I HATE overly difficult games and repeating things over and over to try and get by. I won’t play Demons Souls or those types of games as a result. I really wish they would just add a difficulty level. It’s ridiculous not to have one imo.

Apparently there’s a lot of different ways to attack enemies. Also if you take your time leveling up in the open world, the boss fights will be much easier. If you try to rush through the game, then it sounds like it can get quite difficult.
