Salary Cap Issues for Exhibition play

I like to play some of the historical rosters and make modifications. It’s pretty difficult to make an sign a created player. I attempted to release some players but that didn’t work. Now I can’t sign the players I released because of salary cap. Warning save the roster as a new save. That way you can delete it if it doesn’t work out. I know the franchise trick is to play with Cap off. But what’s the key to a super roster in exhibition?

One thing that helps (but doesn’t solve if that team is already at the cap limit) is to make the player as a different position like Punter so you can sign him cheap.

After signing him or trading for him then change his position and ratings
