Want to Use the Generic Playbooks in Franchise Mode? Here's How

1. Start a franchise as an owner
2. Simulate or play the season(s) until the week after the Super Bowl
3. Fire your head coach
4. Click “hire head coach”
5. Look for any coach that has one of the generic playbooks on offense or defense that you would want to use (it is also during this time that you can hire other teams’ OC or DC as your head coach or hire former head coaches to be your OC or DC)
6. Once you’ve hired the coach with the playbook you’d like, go to “team schemes” to change to the scheme that you’d like to use but DO NOT change the playbook. Its going to show up as the 49ers book on the screen, but it will be the generic book that you want as long as you don’t change it.

Unfortunately, you can not do formation subs with the generic books, but at least you can play and sim with them.

So far, I’ve seen the west coast, run and gun, run balanced, and balanced pass (which is really the spread playbook, it sims like Chip Kellys old playbook) for offense and 3-4, 46, and cover 2 for defense.

The appearances of the coaches using these playbooks appear to be at random, so it may take a couple of years in franchise before they show up. If they do not, simply rehire your old head coach and move on to the next season until one does.
