Re: NBA 2K22 Official Roster Update (1.28.22) Sixth Ratings Update

Here are some players who I thought should have gone Up or Down but were not touched in this update. These are just my opinions

Players I thought deserved to go up:

Tobias Harris - At least 1 OVR to 85 OVR - over the last six games:- 19.7 points (41.1 FG% on 15 attempts), - 7.2 free-throw attempts,- 7.3 rebounds, - 5 assists

Khris Middleton - Still only rated 85 OVR - Last 7 Games - 24 PPG, 10 RPG, 6 APG, 1.5 BPG

Ayo Dosunmu - Pass Vision, and Defense are still rated too low as well as Speed/Acc ratings despite his OVR increase

DeAndre Hunter - Still only rated 77 OVR despite last 7 games of great defense & 16 ppg, 51% FG, 36.0% 3pt FG, 16-18 FT

Bogdan Bogdanovic - Rated a little low at 76 OVR, just returned from injury but has looked good in a scoring role off the bench last two games

Duncan Robinson - Still only rated a 75 OVR despite last 3 games: 23.0 PPG, 62.2% FG, 56.3% 3PT

PJ Tucker - Having a great season but yet is rated the same as Omer Yurtseven and below a two-way player as he only has a 77 OVR rating

James Bouknight - Averaging 11 PPG 43% FG over past 5 games: Atleast deserves a 73 OVR

Harrison Barnes - Rated an 80 OVR despite 19 PPG, 6 RPG over his last 7 Games, should be at least on par with Haliburton in OVR

Austin Rivers - Still Rated 73 Overall - Has been a key part of Nuggets rotation with injuries - AVG 11PPG, on 56% 3PT on 4.5 attempts last 7 games

Frank Jackson - Still Rated 72 Overall - Was out with injury/COVID but production has stayed the same since prior to injury - 11PPG and a key part of rotation but is rated behind Saben Lee who is 74 OVR and doesn't play

Killian Hayes - Still rated 71 Overall - Has now been benched but OVR rating hasn't been touched at all since 2K21, No update to defense or passing, speed/speed with the ball, or acceleration

Jakob Poeltl - Still Rated 78 Overall - Has been consistently the Spurs 2nd best player averaging 19 PPG, 10 RPG, and 3 APG over the last 6 games

Robert Covington - Still Rated 74 Overall - Still rated way too low despite being the starting PF all season. Averaging 9 PPG, 8 RPG over last 6 games

Players who should of went down:

Nick Richards - Still rated 76 Overall - Intangibles rating of 98!!!!!! and he's not even in the rotation playing 2MPG or less

Enes Kanter - Still Rated 77 Overall - Not in the rotation and because C formula still weighs heavily on outdated skill-set for C

Cam Reddish - Still Rated 79 Overall - Has barely played since coming to NYK, yet is rated above all other wings except Barrett

DeAndre Jordan - Still Rated 77 Overall - Not in the rotation and hasn't been updated for 3 straight updates despite limited production

Jalen Smith - Still Rated 76 Overall - Has fallen back out of the rotation mix but is still rated on par with Jae Crowder who starts at PF

Aleksej Pokusevski - Still Rated 75 Overall - Has been in the G-League for most of the season + stats are horrible there as he's shooting 30% FG and under 30% from 3. Rated higher than Bazely and Wiggins who have been key contributors for OKC

Nemanja Bjelica - Still Rated 79 Overall - Has been vastly overrated all season, is a backup C averaging 6 PPG and 5 RPG yet is rated higher than starter Kevon Looney (77 OVR), and key sub off the bench Jordan Poole (78)

Klay Thompson - Still rated 86 OVR (did drop 1 point but not enough IMO) - Feel good story but ratings of 94 3PT, 90 Perimeter Defense, 90 Lateral Quickness, 87 Help D, 88 Pass Perception, 90 Defensive Consistency are all high for a player returning from 2 major injuries

Steph Curry - Still Rated 96 OVR (slight OVR drop would have been good) - Has had a huge shooting slump shooting 32% from 3PT but 2K refuses to reduce his 99 3PT rating

Players who I was surprised that dropped in rating:

Grant Williams - Not sure why he dropped in OVR, 8 PPG, 4 RPG, 52% 3PT in last 7 games, Constant rotation player, while Enes Kanter is not in the rotation and has been awful but is a 77 OVR

Lamelo Ball - Not sure why he went down either after increasing his scoring to 20 PPG in last 7 games + consistent rebounding and APG as normal

Jordan Poole - Still averaging 15 PPG in 27 MPG over last 7 games, shooting 38% from 3PT and 3 APG - Shouldn't be below Bjelica and Porter Jr in OVR rating

Obviously, these are my subjective opinion but I don't like seeing NON-Rotation players rated 2-3 points higher than someone who is in the rotation. There's no reason someone like Nick Richards should have ever been increased to a 76 OVR. I weigh each player's OVR solely in each positional category and Nick Richards is the same OVR as Sengun, Okongwu, Claxton, J.Hayes, N.Reid despite all of them being key rotation contributors and Richards not playing.

Re: NBA 2K22 Official Roster Update (1.28.22) Sixth Ratings Update

Couple of HEAT related thoughts:

1. Would like to see Bam’s perimeter defense bumped up a little as well as his speed and lateral quickness.

2. Glad Caleb’s getting love these last few roster updates, his defense is getting bumped up is great. However, his 79 rating from mid range his high considering he shoots sub 30% from there the last I checked. He’s also way too slow.

3. Omer having a 70 strength for a guy who gets bumped off his spot with ease is crazy to me.

4. P.J. Tucker needs some love all over, having a phenomenal year showcasing everything in his arsenal. One of my favorite players ever, wish he was in this uniform since the beginning.

5. Jimmy’s shooting?

6. Duncan Robinson rounding into his usual self the last 20 something games, I think this will be adjusted for in the next update.

7. Gabe Vincent’s defense in this game needs love just like Caleb is getting. 60 perimeter defense, 37 interior defense, 65 lateral quickness, 69 hustle??, 45 defensive consistency???, and a 60 help defense for this guy isn’t it. Coming into the season, our biggest worries were health and depth and the development of the depth has offset the injury bug that hit this team. Gabe is a huge reason why.

for the love of God please update Obi Toppin speed, hes so slow in this game, in real life all you see him is running up and down the court ready for lobs. I've legit never had an alley opp opportunity with him in this game.

My Heat Ratings

POINT GUARD
84 (+2) Kyle Lowry
75 (NC) Gabe Vincent (probably a 76 once I do badges; he has zero)
72 (+3) Kyle Guy

SHOOTING GUARD
77 (+2) Duncan Robinson
82 (-1) Tyler Herro
80 (NC) Victor Oladipo

SMALL FORWARD
93 (-1) Jimmy Butler
78 (NC) Max Strus
77 (-2) Caleb Martin (79 is a joke, as I will outline below).

POWER FORWARD
79 (+2) P.J. Tucker (Martin > Tucker is a microcosm of how bad 2K is at player value)
77 (+5) Markieff Morris
70 (-1) KZ Okpala

CENTER
86 (NC) Bam Adebayo
79 (+2) DeWayne Dedmon
76 (-1) Omer Yurtseven
68 (-2) Udonis Haslem

79-rated Caleb Martin (on a 2-Way) is the 20th highest rated SF in the NBA 2K roster.

Starting SFs in the 2K roster with a lower rating than Caleb Martin:
76 Matisse Thybulle
78 Lauri Markkanen
77 Nicolas Batum (actually, the ENTIRE Clippers team has a lower rating than Caleb Martin)
77 DeAndre Hunter
80 Harrison Barnes (not lower but uhhhhh LMAO)
73 Trevor Ariza
76 Dorian Finney-Smith
76 Jeff Green
74 Justin Holiday
78 Eric Gordon
76 Joe Harris
74 Doug McDermott
75 Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

The 2K roster team need to take inventory with themselves because they aren't half as good at their job as they think they are.

The over reliance of the “intangibles” rating is what does it. OS has talked about that before, serves no purpose other than inflate overalls when you shouldn’t NEED to as long as the right attributes are being touched up.

One thing I really like is increase/decrease of some of the player’s defensive attributes. Hope that’s a thing that continues going forward, don’t know if they did that last season but props to them. Have they done a badge update yet? Feel like we should be getting one here soon if we haven’t already.

Re: NBA 2K22 Official Roster Update (1.28.22) Sixth Ratings Update

So with all these rating changes, are the players actual ratings changing? Or is the 'intangible' rating just changing? It's my understanding that the 'intangible' rating has no actual effect of players performance on the court, and only seems to effect the minutes they get in the rotation.
