Players improving star to superstar mid season without challenges?

I know players can improve from star to superstar etc.. if they complete their goals from the interactive challenges that get presented week to week... but can these players just improve automatically if your player is just playing fantastic?


I have a franchise QB I have to negotiate a contract for but have to wait till week 9. I'm kinda concerned if he's throwing 300 yards.. rushing for 40-50 yards with a TD or 2 that he may just get bumped up WITHOUT a challenge from star to superstar ruining my cap space.

Sorry but I have to disagree with this, I have seen it happen. My MLB, who has been playing lights out and was a Star, became a SuperStar one week during the playoffs. Never got any notice or anything about being a breakout player or goals or anything like that. There was no acknowledgement of it or anything on the franchise menu either, I just noticed it in the roster menu.

This most likely happened in the playoffs during the Pro Bowl week. I believe it is common for players who are on the Pro Bowl team to have their dev trait increased.

Not sure which week it happened but I know he was not on the pro bowl team.

I Like that aspect of a player changing based on his play.

The random dev adjustments happen at the end regular season as that is when awards are decided and when who makes the pro bowl roster is generated.

Again, this was not tied to any awards or the pro bowl as my MLB did not get any awards or make the pro bowl roster. I think this was just based on overall play.
