Underrated Players

Who's your favorite underrated player to play with? Maybe "underrated" is the wrong term, but let's say "Low overall" (Under 80).

I've recently started (what I hope to be) my full-time franchise, with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

I've gotta say, playing with Adam Boqvist (77OA) reminds me of playing with Cale Makar...guy absolutely flies, bombs around the offensive zone, and if he gets caught pinching, I can typically close the gap and catch up coming back.

I ended up giving him a long-term extension after the first game that I played, just because I knew he was a guy that will end up making a huge jump.

Anybody stand out for you guys?

Re: Underrated Players

Zach Hyman, Edmonton forward, 29
They call someone like Hyman a Swiss Knife player. Zach has the tools to play in any lineup, with any partner, in any situation. His restlessness and passion add energy to his partners, so 33 (15+18) points in 43 games last season won't fully reflect his value to the team. But a move to Edmonton might very well. This coming season we'll be able to gauge how Auston Matthews and company will fare without Haiman, and how Connor McDavid will play when he gets such a skillful workman to partner with him. And maybe they won't see Hyman as a player who can be easily replaced.

Hyman's a plug, leafs are way better without him bricking chances all game.

This thread is about guys that play above their rating in the game, and hyman plays below his.

Drake Caggiula LW Sabres

Not sure what it is with this guy, but he can hit, skate, and score.

Discovered him recently when I started a Sabres Chise, and plugged him into my 4th line. I can depend on him to carry the 4th line if I am behind in the game, and hold the opposing team if its crunch time.

Re: Underrated Players

Nicolas Roy

A mainstay in my custom franchise at the moment, 3/4 Line Centre/RW. Always seems to score gritty important goals when I need one, big 2 way forward who can play up and down the lineup if need be. Never seems to be on the ice for a goal conceded (backed up by his +8 halfway through this current season). Never used him in other franchises but doing the buisness for me.

Re: Underrated Players

I did notice there was a lot of underrated players in the franchise and be a pro, there are so many underrated players sum of them don't even need an X-Factor sign to see it, am seeing this as goalie and player in the franchise, and be a pro, as of right now, you can hook up your team with 6 small guys on your roster and get rid of the higher-ranked guys and still win games, but you sacrifice your Offense and Defense and Goalie scores though, I wanted to make Ottawa fastest team in the franchise, so I loaded up smaller guys, we still played good we were so fast we even beat Boston Bruins in pre-season: OTT: 5-4: Boston Bruins in O.T if you have a team with 2-3 X-factor players which also means you have also least 3-5 players who are underrated in the roster.

now also when I got these 6 smaller players I had to re-arrange the entire lines and to make lines go orange color, so they have the least playability together and familiarity together.
