Beluba still a sim head???

I thought Wang left NBA Live because EA direction going more Arcadey?

Now I'm started to think Mike should of stayed at Live and we would of still have two basketball games and eventually one would stay sim and the other arcadey

Rather you like it or not Mike Wang became less sim with a NBA Live mindset because of online park play and neglecting offline sim gameplay

I love Mike and everything he's been behind. I mean **** he started on this thread. But I got a feeling that he answers to someone else. That person wants a more arcadey game. Now I have to say. This game still base things off a sim base. Like literally everything. I think it has to do with behind the scene sliders.

I also think there is a legit problem with the way players are rated.

They should pack a simulation team for just offline gameplay Only if they didn't already

So when those park patches hit it won't affect the offline gameplay and everything specifically for offline simulation instead of cramming everything in one gumbo pot to attempt to Please everyone.

Re: Beluba still a sim head???

Every year guys like Wang rant and rave how they've fixed community wide complaints about things like player movement on the court, pass catch animations, AI teammates etc and every year it's literally almost identical to the previous year. So why even pat yourself on the back about listening to the community and claiming you've fixed something when we all find out within 2-4 weeks that it's still a major flaw?

Talking specifically about mycareer....NBA2K is the furthest thing from sports simulation. I get it, it's a videogame and there's just some things that can't fully replicate real life but NBA2K might be the worst of all major sports games. The entire game is animation based. The only thing you need to know how to do is whatever 2 or 3 cheese moves each year and just spam them over and over and over every game. Every year the first week or so the game feels and plays pretty good and we all fall for it like it's the year 2K got things right blah blah blah but then it happens. People start getting their badges. There are way too many badges. It turns the game from decently smooth and realistic to animation driven garbage. Almost all the badges introduce a new animation(s). So (insert defensive badge here) counters (insert offensive badge here) and it's a roll of the dice who's animation wins and you're both forced into an animation. This is literally the reason the contest system has been horrifically and embarrassingly flawed for years. Then you have to factor in the other 8 people on the court and their badges. The offball defenders and offensive players have their badges activating at the same time depending on the situation which adds even more roll of the dice animations. Then on top of all that the courts in rec and proam are WAY. TOO. SMALL. So what you're left with is basically a WWF 50 man battle royal. No room for anyone to do anything but stand in place or else forced animations start happening all over the place.

They nerf interceptor basically every year because passing lane steals are OP. Meanwhile literally every year countless amounts of people are sending in feedback on twitter, facebook, 2k support, reddit, forums such as OS etc about the size of the court/player models. Sooooo why not you know, fix the scaling?!!! Either make the court bigger and scaled to realistic dimensions or make the player models smaller. Making the player models smaller would be the most efficient way of fixing it. But for some reason they refuse to fix this. Yet release a patch to nerf passing lane steals 3 months after launch like clockwork every year. Counter productive much?? Along with ignoring this major flaw, they keep adding more and more badges every year which makes things even worse. By time 2K25 comes out, you'll be in a 5v5 game and within seconds everyone is going to be stuck together like 10 screws stuck on a magnet.

Yet my ******* still buys the game and plays it every year hoping that "this year is the year they fix the major flaws we've been pleading for for over 5 years."

It's a shame that I have to say this but... EA... please help us.

Re: Beluba still a sim head???

Don't blame the game...blame the damn people who don't know what basketball is. At its core, it's simulation basketball game with the correct rosters and sliders. The people who play it...they think bombing 3PT shots at 90% is the norm.

Honestly, I'm just to the point that NO MATTER WHICH MULTIPLAYER GAME YOU PLAY, people are going to find the exploits and glitches that go against the vision of the developers. Probably why I started playing a lot more offline, single player games of late. YouTube content creators and tryhards can't ruin my experience.

I think this is right. Mike,Czar, etc are not a private self funded development company with 100% control; they are essentially employees of a subdivision of Take Two Interactive. While I'm sure they have some say, at the end of the day they're not making what their concept of the ideal basketball game, they are ultimately making what a corporation decided is the most marketable and profitable game. In these days, that means being accessible to even the most casual of players and also mimicking what has worked in other Take Two products...basically whatever it takes to retain customers and make the most profit.

This is also why in interviews and such they bang on about how great and improved the game is even when the game is obviously bad; they have to "defend the brand" and speak positively even when it's in it's worst state if they want to keep their jobs.

Does this excuse them from any guilt or responsibility when the game is sub par? Of course not...just realize that the product we see is not necessarily 100% how the developers would probably envision it.
