Do you edit your CFM Draft Classes?

I have started to edit the default Madden classes in week one of each season. I DO NOT look at the DEV trait or change those, but I do edit probably 1/2 of the 1st and 2nd rounders to make them feel more unique.

For example, I'll make a WR that's more of a Mike Williams threat (tall and tough) and another that's more of a DeVonta Smith (route technician deep threat) to make them stand out. I also buff a few OL men because they are always so poorly rated.

I do this Week One so I will forget who I edited and how I edited them by the time I finally draft (it takes me a week or more to get through a season of solo CFM). I used to go back through the draft in the post draft week menu and do this, but it felt like cheating because the players were already on teams and my biases could get the best of me. Doing it week one means that even if I remember I made Player A a stud LB, I still have to give up draft capital to get him and I still don't know his DEV trait.

Edit: I forgot to add I also will change pics to make the 1st rounders look different and stand out. I change race sometimes as well.

I was just curious who else might do it, and what techniques you use?

I actually edit every teams new rookies after they've been drafted, not ratings wise, just different looks and arm tape, sleeves, etc.

It seems to add a dimension to it.

That is an important thing to do as well. Make some guys stand out when you see them. Like the real NFL, certain players have face masks and other gear that makes them distinct.

Re: Do you edit your CFM Draft Classes?

I like some things about the scouting update but I think it's dumb my scout can, for example, watch a LG but not a rg. So for what scout I have I put the draftable ones together.

Really... What's with RG, LG? It's just guard.

Tackle, end, OLB, etc... And for outside rushers it's not olb/de, it's just "edge".

Lots of old ignorant mentality still exists in scouting and it doesn't even seem difficult to fix.

I wish we could just edit the scouts. Or at the very least we got more to choose from. So annoying how hyper-specific the scouts are, and that you can’t always even hire ones to scout the positions you want.

I won't edit ratings but I will edit like who will have a star development and superstar etc..

Most first rounders I will put at least a star development (aside maybe a few superstars in the top 10)

Re: Do you edit your CFM Draft Classes?

I'll do cosmetic edits almost every draft, to make sure the look of the players isn't too redundant.

The other thing I'll do, is if I notice that the teams most likely to draft first just drafted a QB the year before, and the draft is a QB top draft, I'll edit the ratings of the top five QBs to make them less likely to go to a team that, for example, just drafted Trevor Lawrence. I only do this when I'm 100% set at the position I'm editing, and I always take extra care to not look at the names of the players I'm editing.

I edit the quarterbacks to have them fit my roster. That usually means nerfing their awareness.
