Common sense changes for 5

1) First and foremost, CLINCH. We need the kind of system that was in 3 re-instated. Doesn't have to be the same controls, doesn't have to be the same animations, it just has to give us the choices/options like we had in 3. We need to be able to pummel and cage grind and move/defend/fight to go from collar tie to single under to double under etc. 4's "clinch" is an abomination. The entry and exit is nice and smooth but not being able to hold someone in your grasp for more than a second or two, or automatically getting plum on someone by just tapping a button is a step back. Replayability of this game is destroyed for me because of this aspect (or lack thereof) in 4.

2) CAF editing. I get it, you wanna cater to the folks who like dressing their caf up like Dynamo from The Running Man. Thats fine, put all the goofy money grabbing costumes you want in the game. But hows about you give us the ability to edit our damn caf stats and moves. I swear, you went completely backwarsds in so many aspects of the game it should have been called EA UFC 2.5. I like the idea of archetypes and what not, it makes for a quick build of CAFs. Leave it, it was a good idea. But do not remove the ability to manually build again, please. So many of us play offline and create real fighters, many of whom do not fall into the archetypes you make us choose from. And 22 CAF slots year after year? EA MMA was about 10 years older and had double to caf slots, so what gives?

3) Control scheme. How about some attention to detail? I've never whined about a video game the way I'm whining about this one. I think its because this release blatantly screams "we didn't really care abou this one." So ridiculously frustrating to work to get someones back only to stand up when you try to flatten them out because "getup" and flattening share the same exact input. Same goes with body strikes and TD inputs. Yeah...great Idea. I love trying to rail an opponent with a huge Mike Perry body shot only to end up having Mike shoot for a single on my rocked opponent whos up against the cage. Yeah, yeah yeah..."get gud." No, ludicrous that they share the same controls. All that money and time and resources spent on updating a control scheme that was never broken in the first place. Imagine if those resources were used somewhere else.

4) Presentation. Remember when you could skip cutscenes before a fight. You could skip the first entrance to the second entrance and then skip to the tale of the tape, then skip to the start of the fight? Now it's one skip right to "are you ready" with the ridiculously out of place taunts. Fun how CAF's walk to the cage shirtless, and if you give them a shirt when you build them they'll fight with it on.

Presentation:

Custom fight now sliders are really really great. Thanks. Two things:
1) Can you change the assignments from red/blue corner to player/cpu? I use this mode 99.9% of the time and find that having to flip sliders if i wanna fight outta the blue corner and then flip em all back again if i go red corner isn't very user friendly.
2) Can a number value be added to the sliders? Trying to eyeball a slider that goes 0-8 is pretty easy. One that goes 0-40 not so much. I gotta zero the slider and then count per click each time.

in fight night 3 at a certain point of your carrer your stats start to drop then you choose to retire or lose to new guys

Unlock weight classes online. Yeah there's bigger gameplay issues but I'd have played through them if this was a thing.

Yes. Gameplaywise this is a great challenge. I can imagine people crying over stat decay but it'd be realistic.

I was never truly bothered by the longevity feature (except out of principle) as I get bored of the mode at that point. This could change that.


Not adding to this as I've mentioned it too much already. As you mention, it's just common sense. This game doesn't have it.

Allow us to choose shorts color in career mode.
Give cafs red or blue tape depending on what corner they’re in rather than the gray they’re stuck with in fight now or online.
