I think.. maybe graphics are better on 2K21….(?)

So I got 2K22 last night. Went back and forth between games. No question gameplay is better now.

But graphics?

The one thing 2K22 absolutely improves on is jersey colors. Namely red and yellow.

But COURT colors clearly go to 2K21 I’m starting to think. Wood is way too washed out in 2K22. Also player skin colors/texture seems better on 21 for some players? 22 has some players too dark for example.

Check this comparison video out. Lakers court seems far more accurate in 21. The purple key is actually purple. In 22 it’s way too dark, yet the wood is way too cold/light and therefore not as textured as in 21. The one improvement on the Lakers court is the yellow in 22.

Player models look better on some in 21. Maybe I’m trippin. But I’m not the only one.

Maybe I’m crazy, maybe I’m just too used to 21 and I’m reacting to the very slight graphical (lighting) changes just being too new, but several people who see the comparisons seem to agree.

After playing 2K22 more (once they add Broadcast to MyNBA) my opinion can certainly change.

I mean, other than lighting changes, in reality, graphics are pretty much if not literally identical.

You’re prob right.

The purple key is a tossup as it borders on navy blue in 22. I feel the more purple purple on 21 is more accurate.

The wood is a bit light in person so maybe 22 is accurate there. I’m a sucker for a warm/detailed wood and I feel 21 delivers a bit more there. Be it more realistic or not.

Hopefully I’m trippin and just need more time playing 22 to acclimate to the various lighting differences. Darker skin players so far may look less dynamic as the new lighting makes them too dark. But again, more playing time might re-acclimate that perception.

Jerseys are mostly spot on now, that’s for sure. 21 red jerseys look horrendous in comparison.

Also I feel player editor graphics on 22 look more low res (and you can’t even see close up player faces).

And 22’s “choose your team” menu on PN and MyNBA looks HORRIBLE. Like PS3 graphics. Players look blurry and insanely low res. And I know I ain’t the only one there as plenty of YouTube videos by regular players have pointed that out. 21’s team choosing menu I find way more elegant, sharp and high res.
