Performance or Quality?

Am I understanding it correctly that Madden 22 will have a 4K option but it only runs at 30 frames per second or a performance mode that runs at 60 frames per second but doesn’t have 2K quality visuals?

Not sure which one I’d pick if this is the case. Thoughts?

Re: Performance or Quality?

I tried them both during the beta and couldn't tell a difference. However, thinking about it, the option may not have been working right.

Assuming it's working correctly at release, I tend to go with quality over performance.

I think that FPS and sports games could see the biggest difference in 30fps and 60fps. If it is indeed an option, I will take the hit in resolution to hopefully make the on field action run much smoother.

Re: Performance or Quality?

If performance was 60 fps at 1440 I'd go with that, if it drops down to 1080 then I'd rather have 4K at 30 fps.

Re: Performance or Quality?

This would not be an issue for PC gamers if the Next Gen version were released on PC. At least for those of us who have decent machines.

Or maybe if they didn’t put so many resources into the crowds.

I don’t know. I don’t like it.

Re: Performance or Quality?

I’d go with performance. I’m pretty sure 21 next gen ran at 60fps and it looked great so I’m ok with that level of graphics and performance.

Re: Performance or Quality?

From the beta forum it looks like performance mode is 120fps. M21 had 120fps option as well, but the cutscenes were in 30fps. Someone in the beta forum mentioned that the cutscenes are up to 60fps now for M22.

Re: Performance or Quality?

Gameplay wise, performance mode is for 120hz gameplay. Quality is 60hz. Obviously at 120FPS, the quality will go down to achieve this. (I also don’t know if that’s exclusive to Xbox)

None of the gameplay is 30FPS. In the beta, my cutscenes were all 60FPS as well.. I’m a PC gamer who games at 155hz so it’s quite noticeable when stuff is off.
