Franchise Mode Gameplay

Does anyone else that is still playing franchise mode on the previous game ever notice that the game play starts acting weird when the new game is released? It might just be the randomness of baseball or my luck but the last 2 years I have got caught in the middle of a season on my franchise and the old game and when the new one is released things that are uncommon in the game start happening. Last year every thing I hit was a bomb and this year I can't win a game to save my life and I was 16 games ahead in the division before it was released.

I usually get the new one when it comes out but I was delayed this year since it doesn't have year to year saves anymore and I was gonna wait until I got a ps5 since there was no reason to get it. So I played 20 until a month ago when I got my Ps5 and I didn't notice anything different
