Fighter sizes need to be realistic for UFC 5

The physical size and proportionality of fighters has been extremely inaccurate on every EA game so far, and I’d really like to see this fixed for UFC 5.

I usually don’t care too much about the visual presentation aspects of the game (I’m more into the actual gameplay mechanics). But the extreme size differences between fighters in the same weight class is so bizarre looking, it totally ruins the immersion for me.

First off, many of the body types are just unrealistic. Yoel should look much more massive, Sandhagen should look much skinnier. DC should be nearly twice as wide.

Secondly, fighters within a division look nearly 100lbs different in weight. Lineker standing next to O’Malley is just comical, Sean looks like a HW. It’s largely bc the relationship between height and weight has never been done right. Tall fighters in a weightclass always look massively heavier than the short fighters.

Sandhagen and O’Malley look like chiseled welterweights next to TJ Dillashaw.

Figueredo, a massive 125er who dwarfs everyone in his division, looks 50lbs lighter than Brandon Moreno when their fighter models stand next to each other.

It really ruins a critical aspect of the immersion of the game. You want to be able to feel and see the physical size advantage you have over your opponents when using Figgy at 125. It should influence the way you play, the way you move, the body language between exchanges.

You want to feel that speed and length advantage you have when using Sandhagen or Zabit, without looking like you’re a massive durable middleweight. Totally ruins the immersion and ability to identify with the fighter.

I agree. And an even bigger issue in regards to fighter size is how they literally morph to being the same size when the fight hits the ground.

It's most noticeable if you play open weight with someone like Ngannou vs Cejudo. Standing, there's a big size difference, but as soon as you start grappling on the ground, Cejudo is magically the same size as Ngannou. I understand that due to animations and whatever it makes things way easier to just change the size of the fighters, but it's simply not acceptable in a game like this.

Especially in the women's. They've had the same basic body type since the game started.

Clay Guida is a giant in UFC 4. Can't believe they never fixed that. Actually, I can very easily believe they never fixed that; there's so much broken about the game that they haven't bothered to fix.

I have fighter size issues with CAF.

It feels like the body types become more petite or thicker based on height. I've created Tony Gravely who's a 5'5 little tank. No matter what body type I use at 5'5 he looks very petite. If I increase his height, that very same body type seems to thicken up and become a more accurate representation of the body we have actually chosen.

This right here. If you are going to do something; do it correctly.

Clay Guida randomly being a giant in this game is hilarious. Tim Means being a giant for 4 games straight without being fixed is also hilarious.

The body types in this game are a mess all over. EA is seemingly entirely incapable of making a tall skinny fighter.

That’s weird cause Clay isn’t that tall. Height’s usually the main reason for the massive size discrepancies within a weight class. Must be some glitch unique to him.

The best example is that super tall boxer at HW Isaac Frost. I couldn’t beliiiieeeeve how big he looked next to Stipe when I first saw it. He looked like a literal giant. A real man that size - based upon seeing him next to 240lb Stipe, and the massive proportionality of his build - would have to weigh no less than 500lbs, likely 600.

Basically when EA wants to make a fighter taller, they just “zoom in” on the character model until the height is correct, regardless of whether everything else gets bigger too. Same with making a fighter shorter, just shrink the whole model until the height is correct, and you’re good to go.

This is how we end up with Figgy - an absolutely massive force at 125 - looking 50lbs lighter than Moreno.
It’s how we end up with DC, an absolute tank of a man at 205, looking 60lbs lighter than Gus.
It’s how we end up with O’Malley, a comically skinny and unthreatening looking 135er, looking like Anthony Smith at BW
