They made how many Bucs? (Pittsburgh MLB 21 dynasty)

Just a fair warning, this might move kind of slow. I'm going to try to play all 162 games plus playoffs if I make it. At the very least I'm going to play 100. It might be a slow burn. Now onto the backstory....

Pirates Ownership Ousted by MLB

News has broken that Major League Baseball owners have gotten tired of the Pittsburgh Pirates losing and have ousted ownership. Reports are surfacing that it was a closed room vote and a change was overwhelmingly approved. MLB will take over the team until a new ownership group can be found. The Pirates have been on a steady decline for almost the last 20 years but this past season there were a few heated exchanges after Pittsburgh dealt Josh Bell. While the Covid-19 pandemic didn't help, Pittsburgh's profits were roughly half of what owners would like. "This made the decision easier for us to come together and do something," one owner stated.

As far who is filling in, all on the field operations, scouts and coaches will stay the same. MLB has already announced a new general manager by the name of Malachi Geary. Geary was raised in Mississippi before making it to minor league baseball. Since retiring from MiLB, he has worked as a scout for several minor league teams. His last job was being assistant general manager for the Lake Elsinore Storm. Will this change fortunes for Pittsburgh and it's fans? We can only watch and see.

Bucs come to shore late, a dollar short

The season opener for Pittsburgh was much of the same as years past. Kyle Hendricks no hit the Pirates for 5 innings while working 8 and 1/3rd, striking out 5, and walking 2. Meanwhile Kyle Anderson gave up 2 homeruns and a double to Hendricks. The lone spot offensively for Pittsburgh was Ke'Bryan Hayes hitting a 400 foot shot to knock Hendricks out of the game. Craig Kimbrel got the final 2 outs for his first save of the year. The two teams are back at it tomorrow at 1:00 in Wrigley.

Pirates Win, Author too Confused to Make Witty Title

Pittsburgh came out victorious for the first time this season, 2-1 over Chicago. Pittsburgh pitching was led by starter Chad Kuhl and aided by Chicago's lack of plate discipline. Kuhl went 6 innings allowing 1 run and 3 walks while striking out 6. Jake Arrieta took the loss for the Cubs after pitching 5 innings. Ricardo Rodriguez held on for the save, thanks in part to Ke'Bryan Hayes snagging a liner with runners on first and second. Rodriguez allowed 2 walks in his one inning of work.

The Pirate offense was led by Gregory Polanco's 2 run double in the top of the third. Arrieta had the only rbi for the Cubs. Both teams combined for 10 hits for the game.

Cubs Chase Pirates Back to Ship

Zach Davies allowed 2 runs over 6 innings as Chicago defeats Pittsburgh 6 to 4. Steven Brault takes the loss for Pittsburgh allowing 4 runs while pitching 6 innings and striking out 1. Craig Kimbrel gets his second save for Chicago. The bright spot for Pittsburgh was Jacob Stallings who hit his first homerun of the year, a 2 run shot off of Dan Winkler.

Pittsburgh Gets Fresh Bat From Twins

The Pirates made their first trade of the year yesterday, acquiring Jake Cave from Minnesota for minor league players Anthony Alford and Michael Perez. Cave can play all 3 outfield positions and will add some pop to the lineup. Pittsburgh also brought up first baseman Will Craig and signed free agent first baseman Brandon Dixon for minor league depth.

Cahill With the Pill Stymies Reds

Trevor Cahill looked to be back in old form as the Buccos defeat Cincinnati 3-2. The former 17 game winner went 5 and a third allowing 2 runs while striking out 3. Ricardo Rodriguez notched his second save as the bullpen did not allow a run in 3 and 2/3rds innings. Pittsburgh took the lead on a 2 run Jacob Evans homer to left center. Wade Miley took the loss for Cincinatti.
