My Entire Gameplay Notepad for UFC 4

This is a note I have saved on my phone that details all of the combos that I believe fit the best in my playstyle (leg kick heavy offense). There are also written tips at the end as well as a breakdown of my entire gameplan at the start.

It’s very “rough” and there are a few things listed multiple times, but maybe this will help some people who take the time to look even if they don’t play my same style.

This is a striking-only write-up:

Legend:

1=Jab
2=Straight
3=Lead Hook
4=Rear Hook
5=Lead Uppercut
6= Rear Uppercut

b=Body Modifier
S=Slip During the Strike
f=This Strike can be Feinted

UFC 4 Notes

Main Strategy - Utilizing body strikes (specifically the lead body hook) to set up opportunities to use leg kicks, follow-up body shots, and head strikes. It also wears down the stamina and opens up opportunities to feint or slip when they start reacting. Supplementing with long shots from the outside like jabs, double jabs, straights, and front kicks during the interim. Secondarily, using the lead leg kick as a tool to chip damage away, counter pressure, and feint for pot shots at the head with straights or even an overhand. React to persistent pressure by countering early with straights into the various combos (especially backing up into the leg kicks) and careful head movement/lunging. Use knees, elbows, and push kicks to stave them off and drain stamina.

Notes

Back up head kicks when using mix ups against someone standing still or coming forward as well as against the cage, also when faking body shots.

Use the lead oblique kick when you or they are exiting the pocket or after they’ve thrown a combo or as they come forward.

2-any rear round kick mixup (rear comes out faster)

1b-all three strike levels mixup

Use the lead calf kick to pick at people close up while moving (move away from the kick for more damage).

Back away while throwing a 3 or 2 (make sure head health is high and the opponent is able to be intercepted or hit clean/initiate right before they go to strike or as the last strike in the combo [particularly the straight] when they stand still).

Set up the head kick intercept off the leg kick intercept.

Set up the head kick off the break by establishing leg kicks off the break.

Use the major lunge (to the opponent’s rear hand side) after a combo to time the dodge.

Major back lunge into a front kick.

Use front kicks liberally to intercept forward pressure.

Pressure with short combos (against the fence) and back up to make them counter and come back with another combo when they are done.

Rear body knee or the elbow combo when someone keeps coming forward (time to intercept).

Sparingly use the four running strikes (rarely the jab) to catch the opponent off guard or when they whiff a big strike out of your normal range.

Blast the head kick when the opponent is exiting range during low stamina (because they think the body shot is coming [although you can still aim for the body]).

If your opponent is in range for a kick and you miss your punches, finish the combo and land the leg kick (can be switched with body and head kicks).

Use the switch kick when standing still or moving sideways to keep it fast (can use when opponent gets up from the ground).

Leg kick (into head kick/front kick mix up) when the opponent stands up from the ground.

Pick your shots more judiciously against those trying to pull and slip counter. Leg kicks and body shots work well.

Use a jab feint in to a body shot (mainly lead body hook) to set up the jab feint into head shot (mainly straight).

Use the spinning back fist (rear) stationary while the opponent comes in to catch them.

People who fuzzy block are always people who don't trust their reaction time. Just wait, set up your range, and fire off a few head kicks. They'll guess wrong and get smacked by one.

Thanks, how about ppl who have good reaction time with it too? Like theres ppl I face with impeccable TDD and check/catch kicks. And my game collapses.

I use feints and body jabs/lead oblique kick to catch them and it sometimes drains stamina well but other times idk what happens they have great reads/evasion and I lose more stamina/health.

As someone with zero reaction time who uses fuzzy guard pretty much exclusively as defense, I can confirm this is true. Mix up between high and low and eventually you'll catch a scrub like me with good shots.

I envy folks who can actually read where the strike's going to go and defend against it appropriately. Bisping was such a great crutch in UFC 3 'cause I could get caught again and again and again, and just keep coming back. Ah, those were the days...

R1+jab for lead and straight for rear oblique kick.

The lead one is very useful, the rear one not as much idk I heard theres some bug with hit reactions for the rear one so maybe it's as or more effective just doesnt feel like it.

Like other people have said, you can use combos that alternate high-low, but that is actually easier said than done because a blocked shot slows the next punch and lets them react for real.

There are some people that are so scared of getting hit low that they constantly do that (or camp low block in general).

I will literally feint the lead leg kick and hit you with a straight over and over for five rounds. Try it on fuzzy blockers. You’ll land the majority of the time.
