Madden 21 Franchise Salary Cap

I need an explanation: When I am renegotiating contracts my salary cap is shown as 38M, but when I want to sign a free agent it is shown as -1M. Why the discrepancy? I am in my third year and have not yet been allowed to sign a single free agent because of this.

Turn off salary cap. Boom. Fixed.

The amount of cap space shown when signing players is how much you would have left after signing. So if it says you would have -1M then you need to lower your offer since you can't spend more than you have in the current year.

Re: Madden 21 Franchise Salary Cap

Also if you are in the off season, the rookie cap space is taken out of it as well. That is also something to consider.

Re: Madden 21 Franchise Salary Cap

The reason its lower when signing FAs is because the money used to sign upcoming draft picks is factored into the cap

All the rookie contracts are auto right? You don’t negotiate the contract? Does anyone know how long each contract is for and if you cut a rookie before the regular season starts do they still count against the cap?

Yes. 4 year rookie contract. Yes the bonus will count against your cap. Example, $1M would be $250K yr 1 and $750k (the remaining bonus) the next year.

Madden fun, but, will not buy another till its next gen only and they get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

Just have fun and play :)
