Madden crashing following completion of game

So I just completed a franchise game in which my 4-8 Eagles beat the Saints. Grinded for a victory with Jalen Hurts going 21-28, 210+ yards, 1TD and 0 INTs. Exit the game to return to the team home screen, but the game failed to get there, doing an infinite loop of the "swishing/swooshing" Madden 21 art screen. I had to force close the game, only to discover that when I reloaded my franchise, the game that I just completed didn't save. This is the second time this has happened.

Anyone else experience this? More importantly, anyone known how to fix it?

I am on PS5, with the most recent console firmware (from today 2-3-2021), and the most recent Madden update from 2 days ago. As a whole I haven't experienced many big bugs or glitches with my PS5, so it seems to be in good health.

What is going on with my Madden?

I assume you just got the game for Christmas with your PS5. This year's game has been filled with instabilities and bugs. It's not getting fixed. Chalk it and keep plugging away.

There are no secret tricks or updates.

This has happened to me on PS4 a few times too. Most of the times it happened was when the servers went down during my game.

If you wait it out several minutes does it eventually reconnect and save your progress???
