Delay in shooting motion start

Hi,

I recognized a strange thing occuring when shooting with the stick:

When shooting catch and shoot, there is sometimes (not always) some kind of delay between input and start of the shooting motion. This only happens when trying to do a catch and shoot and no matter if you press before you receive the ball or the instant you receive the ball.
When using the shot button, this delay does NOT happen. When having the ball and waiting until shooting, then the motion also starts instantly with the input.

I took 4 shots.

1) Shooting input with right stick before receiving the ball -> delay before shot animation

2) Shooting input with shot button before receiving the ball -> instant shot animation
3) Like 1), but this time there is only a very small delay.
4) After receiving the ball I wait a short amount of time until I use the right stick -> shot animation starts instantly.

This is somehow annoying as this puts you in a big disadvantage if you try to shoot open shots and sometimes the players take a whole second until he actually starts to shot. This shot is likely not open anymore by then.

Yep. That small milli second can be the difference.

Hm.

The only time I have a significant delay is when I'm using aiming. I don't notice this with timing though, and I'm an exclusive stick shooter.

Re: Delay in shooting motion start

I feel like the delay had always been there, since they tied dribble moves to the right stick. The delay is there so the game could determine if you're shooting or making a dribble move.

I recommend a fast and hard (pressurized)pull down of the stick to initiate shooting and lock in a straight shot.

2k has a lot of delays in this game with animations . I’m going to post a new set of sliders that has the reactions spit on and is giving me the best games and animations .

dont understand how sliders could change if you have a delay when shooting with the stick vs no delay when shooting with the Button.

I'm not slider guru, but I think some sliders affect animation speeds. However, I really think this delay is really connected to the game determining if you're making a dribble move versus shooting. When I take last minute shots, I always use the button.
