Access to The City

Hi all

Do I need PS Plus to access the City in My Career?

Ive just started in the NBA after being drafted and it wants me to play online in rookieville to access the city. Except I don't have PS Plus and don't want to pay for it.

I assumed it would be similar to nba2k20 where you didn't need it to access the neighbourhood.

You have to rep up to access the city. Until your rep is high enough (I believe you have to hit pro) you have to play in rookieville. It has nothing to do with ps plus.

Thanks. So I don't need a subscription to PS plus to be able to play in rookieville and rep up?!

He was wrong. To access the City, you have to play online games (park/playground). If you don't have a PS Plus account, you can't play, therefore you can't access the City. In a similar example, if you have one, have already accessed the City, and it expires, you won't be able to access it until you renew.

Thanks for the reply. Exactly what id feared. I don't play online. Have now bought a ps plus subscription but I didn't want to. Not very happy that this wasn't made clear but not surprised by 2K.

It's not really a 2k thing; it's a Playstation thing. With that, went into the Store, and one of the first things mentioned is that a PS Plus subscription IS required for online play.

Re: Access to The City

Yeah, my issue is more than 2K made it so the City was only accessible to people who pay for online rather than the neighbourhood in previous games which anyone in My Career could access.
