I Think The Contact Dunk Success Rate Should Be Changed

I play 95% of my games in rec/proam but I am sure this is an issue across the board. Slithery finisher is obviously extremely overpowered. The sliders for things like "contact dunk and contact dunk success" are way too high.

I dont even know why this is a debate anymore and why this hasnt be addressed and correct. Look at this video below...

1. This happens 7+ times a game and usually its on 2+ people
2. The player dunked on is a paint best with HOF intimidator.
3. What the hell is this animation? Seriously what is this? This is the type of animation that 2K bragged about being removed and "revamped"

This isnt even that bad of an example either. Anyone who is playing rec and proam will tell you this... penetrating players are sliding right off your body and with 0 loss of momentum or speed going up and postering 3+ players with gold/HOF intimidator. It's an absolute joke.

Shooting is absurb too. I think it’s because the All Star sliders are at 52. They should be at 50 or 48 to be realistic. I have no idea what 2K was thinking with this change. All Star should stay at 50.

Yeah I totally agree, 2k online modes are always arcadey in some ways, but 2k21 next gen has taken it a step further. Granted part of that is because the new builder essentially allows for the creation of demi-god players where everyone can largely do everything well. In previous 2ks at least you could sort of justify the contact dunks by saying "Well he is a slasher he is supposed to be able to do that from time to time" whereas this year that same guy can also hit contested 3s from the logo and dribble like Kyrie Irving.

I mostly play Rec, so I can vouch for this thread 100%. This is a legitimate problem and needs to be addressed. Good positioning and size don't seem to matter because it's like a body isn't there at all when the dunk is being defended.

Contact dunks are awesome in the right situation, but this is out of hand and has contributed to a poor gameplay experience. This should be an easy fix because it's never been this bad.

What? You guys don't like 2k showing off the new impact engine? lol Remember when we all complained about OP canned animations? Now it's next gen and they bought back canned animations with a new name "impact engine"


I would be fine with all this OP animation if they balance it out with some defensive ones to counter it. Instead to no ones surprise animations favor the offense.

2K have shown no interest in producing a balanced game. In 2K16, which I still play, they actually created some cheesy defensive animations where the defender could bump the ball-handler and make him pick up the ball. Obviously this was created to contend with dribble spammers (and I virtually eliminate it by turning down on-ball defense slider to 0) but it seems that 2K21 has no mechanisms in place to keep the game balanced. And that's what makes for a good game: balance. Sometimes that makes the game look ugly, and I've seen absolutely horrible animations in 2K11 but they were there for a purpose

Czar said him self that there's a person or group of people working on each part of the game, so the person working on passing is different to the person on dribbling. What we've ended up getting is a hodgepodge.

You guys think it's time to try out real time physics? It's next gen and if you want to say that it can only be done on next gen this would be it. As pretty the animations 2k has they need to figure a way to actually add some true physics.

Explains why some parts of the game feels so disconnected. Like you have the brain and the arms and legs are doing there own thing.
