Funny Online Play Story

Let me preface the story but saying that I have been playing the NHL series since 1995 so I have logged lots of hours in EA's NHL game. 99% of it has been offline.

I went out and bought NHL '21 on its release day. After putting the wife and kids to bed I fired it up to play a couple of quick games to see how the game is. I don't normally play online but I thought I would try it that night.

I jump into a 3v3 online game with two guys who seem to know each other based on their talking. I am playing defense while they are both playing forward. As I listen to their conversation (I am listening but don't talk), they decided that I am the reason we get beat pretty badly (9-4 or so). I leave the lobby and go play a few 1v1v1 games to fool around with the controls a bit and then decide to play another 3v3 game.

In the game lobby, I notice that one of my opponents is one of the guys I played with in game one. He says, "oh it's (my gamertag) again. I played with him about 3 games ago and he's f'n terrible."

Game starts and ends...my team wins 8-4 and I had 5 goals and 3 assists. Felt pretty good!!!
