Think the best selling points so far are the Steph clips and the "mediocre" player upgrades to Looney and Chriss so far from current gen to next gen on the visuals front.

I highly recommend the second half of the player comparison video for anyone who thinks this isnt a significant jump in visuals.

It's a large jump for people with non PS4 Pros...if you have a Pro that leap is not that large. However, graphics don't mean anything if the player movement is lacking.

Definitely an upgrade. We're at the point of diminishing returns. The bar is already at a very high level. If anyone was expecting photo realistic visuals, then they had unrealistic expectations. It is clear to see the attention to detail that these next gen consoles produce. It's not just more accurate face renders. They actually look like more life like especially compared to last gen. 2k has had quality graphics this gen, but I felt this gen the characters felt cartoonish. Now not only do they have more accurate face renders, they have emotion now. Hopefully the celebrations don't have that initial delay. Like it has to process that they just won the game after the game is over already. Plus lighting makes a huge difference. Even though the body scans looks the same, definition stands out more. Hopefully that is Improved next year. Hopefully with more memory, they are able to have bigger courts and more size appropriate player size. Colors looks more accurate and not washed. Jerseys actually look real and not a single layer photo scan.

Easy to see the graphical improvements. But the thing is, current gen games really don't look bad. They just don't look as good as what's to come. The problem has been when things are in motion. I can still see things like warping and clipping in a video that's supposed to be a showcase. Stuff like that becomes even more pronounced the more realistic games become.

I completely understand the excitement. I'm personally beyond that point where graphics themselves do that for me. I care more about AI, physics, animations, sound and overall believability when playing.

With that being said, this is only the beginning of the generation. It will only get better from here.

You know what’s crazy ? On paper this is the biggest console leap ever . Late 21/22 is when games will really start feeling next gen.

2k looks to be ahead

I'm a strange combination of both impressed and underwhelmed. It's not in the player details, but I guess I was expecting more in the uniform cloth details and surrounding arena details. When I saw the lighting in the first teased clip a while back, I thought we'd be getting some next-level atmospherics and in the crowd. On that front, it feels a little more current-gen.

But the faces and movement is silky smooth, and I love that.
