So, I realized that if PSN is down...

The other day may have made my decision for me, in regards to which PS5 to get,digital or disk based. PSN goes down and I can't play any games I downloaded digital. I figured once I purchased them I wouldn't be concerned with that. Did I miss something?

You should still be good to play on the Playstation as long as it is set as your primary. For instance, I have a base PS4 in my bedroom and the PS4 Pro in the basement in the family room. I have the base PS4 set as primary so that I, or my wife or kids can always get on and play. If PSN is down anyone can still play any digital games on the base. Now, the Pro is a different story. If PSN is down I'm screwed. Cant play or do anything on it. Also, unless I'm logged into my profile, no one can play any games I purchased in the Pro. I hope Sony does better next gen with regards to owning multiple consoles and the convoluted user profile stuff.

You don't need to be online to play single player games/modes of only installed digitally.

I would have smashed my PS4 if i couldn't play GOW when my internet went down. Lol

That game and Spider-Man are endless fun when only offline.

Eureka...that was it. It was prompting me to do exactly that but for some reason during the outage the other day it wouldn't allow me to set it. I gave my pro for like 3years and never bothered because it was the only ps4 I had after trading in the original ps4.

It makes perfect sense you weren’t able to set it if you had no internet. The change needs to be registered with Sony’s servers.

And just a heads up. I share my license/games with my brother. That's why digital is a must.
