EA not taxing stamina from missed strikes during block+sway is LEGITIMATE proof that they are catering more towards the ****** player. They're just throwing it in our faces now. YOU'RE NOT GIVING TECHNICAL DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OPTIONS TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST SPAMMERS.

Super bizarre. Why would they do that?

They got rid of the extra tax. There is still a tax to the stamina from missed strikes, and missing while the opponent block sways counts as a miss. It actually is more realistic. Why would there be some magic entity increasing your stamina tax when your opponent is in front of you ducking as opposed to being outside the octagon eating popcorn. Your punching air regardless.

Because when you know you're going to miss you adjust earlier and don't put 100% effort into the strike all the way through, conserving a bit of energy. Not as much as if it had actually landed mind you, because you still have to expend the energy to stop the striking limb.

When you think you're going to land but it doesn't you're caught off guard and expend more energy stopping a strike that was thrown with the expectation it would land.

It's a realistic thing to have the extra tax.

Got it, makes sense. Sounds like you've made this pitch a few times lol. That being said, the extra tax is still there if you let go of block. Seems like a good call balance wise. I'll stick to my competitive balance mindset where I'm more suited obviously :P

Re: No stamina tax from missed strikes against block+sway SMH!!

I was surprised by this change as well. I can only chalk it up to competitive balance. It'll be frustrating to fight someone who just block sways every strike with little to no risk while all my stamina is drained. The vulnerability risk is not the same since they're blocking.

This would only be a strong argument if we had a power modifer which we dont. Every shot is 100%. Its why the diaz bros can conserve energy so well. This is simply a flawed argument when it comes to the game mechanics
