On Ball Steal mechanics breakdown. This is the method 2K Pros use to steal the ball

This is the best on ball defense skill you can have, it will allow you to be an on ball threat for the entire length of the court. Once you have this habit down the opposing PG will be stressed out and slowed down by you. This is the method + technique 2K league pros use on the defensive side of the ball, it is the most effective individual defensive tactic I have seen online and offline.

Sam i understand the blitz mechanic from your video, but is there any other way to trigger a steal animation from just timing it? For example, 2K added the dotted lines under the ballhandler when they are exposing the ball for a steal. Is there no consistent way to time the steal button and trigger a 2-man steal animation to steal the ball?

That's how it was in 2k17 and 2k19

If there is one i haven't seen it yet. Since there are so many different stationary dribble moves I don't believe we can reliably trigger a consistent steal animation that overpowers them. Using a PG's forward momentum against him remains the best way to trigger consistently useful steal animations.

Yea you can reach esp off ball. A guy tries to drive around you as a help Def just get on ball side and steal.

I would not just blitz a good player like that tho. You have to wait for them to make a mistake. That hard swipe has been in the gm for years. Used to be a lunge. You can take the ball from people in half court using the same ideas. Just shade over to the ball. If people are gonna put the ball right in front of you, take it.

But all we need is more jerks trying to steal everything and chasing the ball.

bump steals are maybe too prevalant, but people crossing over into the body of their defender who is playing sides like on james harden before the bubble is void of steals.

Its a joke
