The update just ruined the game for me.

Updated the game an hour on pc and now I can’t get over 30 frames in the menus or gameplay. Before the update I had it locked at 60 frames during menus and gameplay. I am beyond livid. I changed every setting and no matter what it’s the same issue. Running a beast rig so I know it’s not my pc.

The exact reason why I went home at lunch and went into Origin and turned off Automatic Downloads. I wanted to see what others had to say about the patch before I downloaded it. Gonna see what more people say.

Not that it helps, but the update had the opposite effect for me. Now I can run DX12 @ 60FPS and its super smooth on PC

My issue with the patch is what it did to gameplay. Totally took my excitement away after.

I am not having an issue with performance on PC.

DX12 or DX11 nothing works. I’ve changed every setting and nothing fixes it

I have it set to lock on 60 but it stays at 30 no matter what. Before the update I had 0 problems.

For 5 days I couldn't play the game because it would freeze at the loading screen. I googled and found a thread on EA's site with people having the same issues. What finally got it to work for me was changing from DX11 to 12, changing my resolution from 2160 to 720 and locking FPS in at 30. My hope was that the patch would help with optimization. But, maybe that's coming down the road.

Not that you should "have" to.. but maybe try RTSS and use the FPS limiter? Set RTSS to limit to 60 FPS and then set madden to have "no limit on FPS".
