INTRODUCTION
The NCAA Football series was one of the greatest video game series of all time. There are so many timeless classics in this bunch – NCAA Football 06, NCAA Football 04, NCAA Football 12, and of course NCAA Football 14.
One of the only problems of the NCAA Football series ending when it did is that the series never included the 4 team playoff – at least not since NCAA Football 01 for the then last gen consoles. The bowls aren’t updated, the stadiums aren’t updated, there is no 4 team playoff, there is no Big 12 Championship game, conferences aren’t updated, uniforms are long out of date, the rosters are from 2013, and there’s so much more that’s out of date wrong with NCAA Football 14.
With all of that being said, there is enough left in the database of NCAA Football 14 to add all of this to the game! But it’s not easy, it’s not in game, and it likely scares away a lot of people. But the more people we have doing this and working on this, the more discoveries are made. This is just a guide to everything on the base level of modding. I have added so much other stuff not here, like Exploria Field and the Cure Bowl!
With all of that being said, modding can get crazy. It may corrupt your file if you don’t do it right, so that is why I ALWAYS recommend using a backup file that you update after each game. You should ALWAYS test a new mod on a NEW test dynasty to get the hang of it before you apply it to your real dynasty.
And the last no go is the error messages. While the Operation Sports community has found fixes for pretty much all of them, some of them are difficult fixes and they could leave a bad taste in your mouth. Are you having an error message? Check the FAQs section.
And LASTLY, this is mainly for Xbox 360. I will link posts to show you how you do this for PS3, and I am not fully sure if you can do this for RCPS3 or Xenia.
With all of that out of the way, LET’S GET MODDING!

- Team 2
You would be replacing Team A with Team 1 and Team B with Team 2.
24. Let’s continue with this example. In Team 1’s Playoff Game, replace Team 1 with Team A. In Team 2’s Playoff Game replace Team 2 with Team B.

NCAA FOOTBALL 14 4 TEAM PLAYOFF WITH USER TEAMS:
you take teams that are not in bowl games and put them in place of the team that won the semi final game. it will keep track of stats for both games if you take both teams out of the title game before you play the bowls and just swap them in for the winners.
example: rose bowl: a vs b
sugar bowl: c vs d
bcs title: e vs f (non are bowl eligible)
winner a plays d for the championship put e in place of a and f in place of d
hope this makes sense to you.
AND:
1) setup your matchups
2) put winners into nc game
3) put any teams not in bowls against the winners
4) play game
5) put the original matchups back
Sim to end of season
NOTES:
So essentially when using a user team in the 4 Team Playoff, the teams that were slated to play the 3 and 4 seeds in their original matchups will lose their bowl bids. It works like this:
#1 Seed = Team 1
#2 Seed = Team 2
#3 Seed = Team 3
#4 Seed = Team 4
Random Team that does not have a bowl bid: Team A
Another Random Team that does not have a bowl bid: Team B
Team that Team 3 was supposed to play in original bowl game: Team C
Team that Team 4 was originally supposed to play in original bowl game: Team D
1. Setup playoff bowl matchups. Example:
Rose Bowl: Team 1 vs Team 4
Sugar Bowl: Team 2 vs Team 3
BCS National Championship Game: Team A vs Team B
2. Play or supersim Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. Note the winners. Example:
Rose Bowl Winner: Team 1
Sugar Bowl Winner: Team 3
3. Take Team 1 and Team 3 and put them into the BCS National Championship Game. Example:
Rose Bowl: Team A vs Team 4
Sugar Bowl: Team B vs Team 2
BCS National Championship Game: Team 1 vs Team 3
4. Play the National Championship. Note the winner. Example:
BCS National Championship Game Winner: Team 3
EXPERIMENT:
5. Put the semifinals back to where they were in step 1, except keep the Nati the same. Example:
Rose Bowl: Team 1 vs Team 4
Sugar Bowl: Team 2 vs Team 3
BCS National Championship Game: Team 1 vs Team 3
6. BOOM!
TRIED AND TRUE METHOD
5. Edit teams back into their original bowls. Example:
Rose Bowl: Team D vs Team 4
Sugar Bowl: Team C vs Team 2
BCS National Championship Game: Team 1 vs Team 3
6. Advance to the End of Bowl Season and edit the semifinals to be the same as in Step 1. Example:
Rose Bowl: Team 1 vs Team 4
Sugar Bowl: Team 2 vs Team 3
BCS National Championship Game: Team 1 vs Team 3
7. BOOM!
ALSO! TO GET TEAM C AND TEAM D NOT TO LOSE THEIR BOWL BIDS (EXPERIMENTAL)
1. When editing in Step 1, replace the teams in the Poinsetta Bowl with Team C and Team D.
2. Manually play or supersim the game
3. Follow the rest of the mod to perfection, and BOOM!
YOU HAVE AN AUTHENTIC 2019-2020 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON!
CREATING NEW TEAMBUILDERS (ALSO INCLUDES MODDING UNIFORMS)
Note: Works for pre-made TeamBuilder teams ONLY! (Don’t worry, you’ll be able to edit them to be a custom teambuilder team)
HOW TO MAKE A NEW TEAMBUILDER TEAM
Note: I am not sure if you have to user control the Teambuilder team. For now, I will say that you have to, but I will experiment with this.
1. Start a dynasty with an EXISTING COACH. Import a teambuilder with the correct logo that you want your team to use. If not, you will have to use the EA logo.
2. SWITCH YOUR DYNASTY TO YOUR COMPUTER.
3. Go to the Team Data tab and find your TeamBuilder team. Change it’s data (city, state, Rival, Name, etc).
4. Pick your stadium. Note: Some stadiums will make all games a neutral site.
5. Then we move on to logos. If you don’t want your current team’s logo, then you have 2 options:
1) Use the EA Logo. Change the Team Logo and Roster Helmet to 210.
2) EXPERIMENTAL Use numbers on the side of the helmet. tucker06’s post explaining:
JOSN = Helmet 1 #'s
(0=off , 1=on)
JTSN = Helmet 2 #'s
(0=off , 1=on)
All of this is in Uniforms tab.
6. Then change the colors of the team. Use this link
https://www.mathsisfun.com/hexadecim...al-colors.html to change the RGB values. Find your primary and secondary colors by adjusting the RGB values. Then, note the numbers for each of the RGB values. For example:
Red: 88 = 58
Green: 163 = A3
Blue: 58 = 3A
Put the first Red number value (88) into the tab TBCR. Repeat with the Green and Blue colors, except use the tabs TBCB for Blue and TBCG for Green. Then you want to do this again for the secondary color, except use the tab TB2B for Blue, TB2G for Green, and TB2R for Red.
NOW TO EDIT UNIFORMS!
Note: If you are making a TeamBuilder team, you will have no issues. But if you have no TeamBuilders in your dynasty, you will notice that this tab is blank. That’s because the game relies on pre-coded uniforms. However, there is a workaround that I will explain later.
1. Make sure you are using tucker06’s Uniforms config. It has everything named (except for a few things), and it makes modding uniforms a lot easier.
2. Go to the Uniforms tab. You will notice that your TeamBuilder team is already there.
3. Change the tabs to reflect what you want refer to tucker06’s spreadsheet to find what means what and what to mod. To insert new colors, go to the Math Is Fun link and drag your color to reflect what you want. Then copy and paste the decimal code.
GET THE FILE BACK TO YOUR XBOX 360
ALTERNATE METHOD EXPLAINED BY tucker06
So, the uniform field on the teams tab will be CASXXX for a TB team. I believe the column heading is "college stadium " but its actually for uniforms.
Example for what I've done : I changed Nebraskas field from NEBRAS to CASXXX. This tells the game to look to the uniforms tab for uniforms. In the team ID on the Uniforms tab, change from your TB team (the drop down menu) and select Nebraska for both. Now, Nebraska will have whatever uniforms are designed here.
You do lose your team color cleats tho.
All the existing uniforms (non uniform packs) have a specific # for helmet, jersey and pants. So you can type in the number for Nebraskas Jersey, pants. helmet or type the number of another teams uni to mix and match.
*NEW DISCOVERY*
HOW TO MOD 30 TEAMS’ UNIFORMS
1. Import 1 TeamBuilder team into a fresh dynasty, and get it to your computer. Once you’re in the EA DB Editor, go to the Uniforms tab in tucker06’s configuration. Then, export the two lines of data to a spreadsheet, and import it back 29 times for a total of 60 lines.
2. Then, go to the teams tab and change all of the teams that you want to mod’s “College Stadium” to CASXXX and then go back to the Uniforms tab and in the dropdown change your TeamBuilder name to that team. Repeat for all other teams.
FAQS ON 4 TEAM PLAYOFF THREAD
Can I use a TeamBuilder team in this mod? Right now I’m getting an error message when I’m trying to load it up in the EA DB Editor…
Are you trying to load it up in the original EA DB Editor? If so, download the new EA DB Editor at this link:
https://forums.operationsports.com/f...&postcount=235 If you are still getting an error, it’s likely not because you have a TeamBuilder team in your dynasty.
Will this work for Online Dynasty?
No. All of the online dynasty data is stored with EA, and we can’t gain access to that.
Can you just install the 4 team playoff onto my flashdrive?
Unfortunately, no. This requires editing every single year. There are video tutorials out there on YouTube to help guide you, and there’s this link:
https://forums.operationsports.com/f...lity-tool.html that will do it for you. There are options out there. But no, you cannot install this onto a flash drive.
I’m getting an “Item with the same key has already been added” error message whenever I try to load up my dynasty in the EA DB Editor. What should I do?
This is one of the more challenging problems. You are likely in the year 2018 or 2019 (I will explain later) although there are some other things that could trigger this error. Are you using a created coach? If so, then you will get this error.
Back to the year 2018-2019 thing. When you are in the 6th year of your dynasty, EA automatically recycles player IDs (4 years + redshirt + medical redshirt) so that will cause duplicate player IDs. While this won’t affect anything in game, it will trigger this error.
Now, you may be asking how do I fix this? If you are using a created coach, sadly you can’t, but there are a few options including some to use if you are using a created coach. You can download the PocketScout configuration (comes with TeamBuilder editor) which doesn’t allow you to edit players or coaches, you can download the Madden 12 editor and there’s a function to view player duplicates, or you could hit “continue” and go to every tab and click Refresh View.
There’s options, but they’re not exactly simple.
I’m getting an error titled “Can’t find Ncalc.dll” or something like that. Help! How do I fix this?
This is very simple. Take the EA DB Editor and the Ncalc.dll (comes in the EA DB Editor folder) and place them in a folder with nothing else in it. This should work!
When I try to play the Big 12 Championship game there aren’t players! Help! How do I fix this?
This happens for me as well, although I have found a fix. Load up your game, and start the game with no players. You will notice that the clock is set to 1023:00. This could be because the game doesn’t fully recognize the Big 12 Championship game, but like I mentioned before there is a workaround.
WORKAROUND FOR BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Note: You have to be in Conference Championship Week
1. Get your file to your computer. Then, go to the Schedules tab and double click Game # and Week #. Then, find the Big 12 Championship game like you did before. If the CPCK is set to 1, change it to 7. If it is set to 7, change it to 1. This is weird. I have done it both ways, and I have tried to apply it before the game as well.
2. Load back up into the game and manually play or SuperSim the game. This should work very well.
