MLB damper your Show hype?

I'll preface this by saying I put in 50-60 hours from launch to about Mid May. But since then, the bleak outlook has just killed me desire to play the game.

Am I alone?

I get what you’re saying and I can see how it’s made the game unenjoyable.

For me though it’s made it so much more fun. I’m not worried about stats at all and I’m just playing and having fun with it. Getting my baseball fix.

Re: MLB damper your Show hype?

Last year I discovered Bacons Fictional Rosters and have been rolling strong with those. Honestly I have been playing more without "Real" Baseball going on. Really is quite liberating to be able to play without the constraints of the real world.

Though I did start a completely CPU controlled franchise with real rosters. When I am puttering around the house or reading, Yay Quarantine SMH, I will set the game to play itself. So I still have Baseball playing in the back filling up the quiet times.

Re: MLB damper your Show hype?

Giving the current state of baseball and what seems like an impending strike/lockout after 2021 coupled with SDS lack of attention to franchise mode the past few years has really made me question if I should just move on to another sport in real life and with video games.

Not for me I have a fictional franchise I just started that's entering it's second season and a Mariners save from last year which is heading into year 3. For me as soon as I start up a franchise in any sports game it becomes fictional and what happens in real life is separate.

100% agree. It hadn’t really bothered me until the last week or so but it’s starting to get to me.

I’ve been getting this feeling that owners care less about the game than I do, so it makes me question why I’m so invested. It has nothing to do with the Show, which I am enjoying more than any year since probably 09. If I hear one more owner cry poor I’ll puke.

Re: MLB damper your Show hype?

I always tend to play games most when that sport is in season. With the virus and now the “lockout,” I was worried my interest in The Show would suffer. I just like to have the real thing going while I’m playing the game.

Some days I have no interest whatsoever but thankfully - especially in quarantine - my interest in The Show 20 has sustained and I play almost every day.

Re: MLB damper your Show hype?

No MLB hasn't taken away from my Show experience. It has been my happy place with everything is going on in the world. I'm 46 yrs of age. I have every version of MLB the Show & never played it so much.

Its early June & no MLB games. At this moment i won't be upset if doesn't take place. MLBTS will suffice for me this year.
