How do you handle CPU rotations in MyLEAGUE?

Curious how all you guys handle the CPU’s rotations in MyLEAGUE.

Since it allocates minutes almost solely based on overall rating, you see some rookies and younger players buried on the bench the entire season simply because a 34 year old role player is 1 overall higher than him. That’s not realistic at all since most teams that are not contenders favor their younger guys. It’s common to see a 1st round pick play in less than 5 games in the whole season, which just isn’t realistic.

The only two ways I’ve thought of to avoid this is a) Manually adjust the rotation for every team all throughout the season or b) increase the intangible rating for younger guys until their OVR is high enough to get minutes.

Both of those options are tedious and take a bunch of work to maintain considering that you’d have to manually adjust the rotation every time there’s an injury/recovery for every team.

Have you guys found a better way to handle rotations?

I've been wondering the same thing, and it's even harder to do for myleague online.

Re: How do you handle CPU rotations in MyLEAGUE?

I understand all the time it takes but I think the only way to manage rotations is advanced rotations
From there you can manage all the minutes at your leisure and the CPU consequently calls even more time out

Stuff like that is why I've played franchise a lot less in the past couple years. I just don't have the desire to control all the teams to make sure they're making at least somewhat reasonable decisions.

IMO people shouldn't have to do that to get a decent experience, because as you said, it is tedious and a lot of work. I think the mode has suffered as a result of continuing to add on feature after feature (to be fair... a lot of people consistently ask for them) instead of refining/streamlining what has already been there. Add in the bugs, and it's just not for me, at least the way it is now.

Even though I love the idea of a deep franchise, I end up just playing quick play games over and over throughout the week. Still mostly fun, and I end up shaking the whole league rosters up with legends and such to make it different.

Re: How do you handle CPU rotations in MyLEAGUE?

I typically set up main rotations like you said, having to raise guys overall ratings via the intangibles rating.

As for handling injuries, what I've done is make sure all reserves have either the same overall, or close to the same overall. That way when a guy goes down, the CPU will grab someone at random and give them minutes, but not starter minutes.

For guys who play the 6th man role, I always make sure they have the highest overall by a few points out of all the guys on the bench obviously.

Having to manually update rotations after every injury is simply too much for me and doing this has saved me a good amount of time. It sucks but after each season I make sure all rotations are set up this way and it's been working for me.

i adjusted All Coach sliders to a rotation size of 13 and a bench usage of 0. its Not ideal, as now all starters will now Play only 27/28 mins but in the other Hand all 13 guys get Minutes.

Re: How do you handle CPU rotations in MyLEAGUE?

I wish 2k would go to a depth chart by position format vs the top 8-10 OVR guys play no matter if that means 4 C in the rotation.

The depth chart format could even help account for foul trouble when using advanced rotations

Good idea, or adjust it to the # of the rookie/guy you want to play
