team affinity innings not rolling over?

Im not sure if this has always been a thing because i never paid attention to it, but i decided to grind TA with the Orioles. Prior to the game, I looked and I was at 242 innings. played an entire game, look at the TA screen and my innings were at 0.
Has this always been the way it was?
I assumed I would be at 73 innings, die to a full 9 inning game, getting the 8 innings to complete the 250 and 73 to start the new 250.

Yep always worked that way. Best to just quit out of the game or do the math going in and take players from another team so you end up right at or just over the 250.

Have they ever tried to patch that? Seems like that is a bug.

Doubt it because I think it rings up like end of game rewards so you get credit for achieving it at the end of a game rather than as a game is progressing.

If you quit mid game the innings up to that point actually count?

If you quit from the pause menu, then yes. If you dashboard, then no.
