Pitching rotation options and 2 way player stamina
I think this is going to be more of a wishful thinking thread, but I would like to see the developers add different pitching rotation options that you can select based on your management style (or thinking deeper, the style of the manager you hire).
Also has it already been mentioned that the AI system for 2 way players is definitely not working! Shohei Ohtani always bats too much which depletes his stamina so when he pitches he is completely gassed by the 2nd or 3rd inning and gets hammered! I think they should have two separate staminas, one for player stamina and the other pitching stamina.
Not sure how others interpret bullpen roles but this is my interpretation:
Long relief - Called upon if needed by the 5th inning or earlier. Also used as spot starter to either follow an opener or start a game due to injury / fatigue to the rotation. Also use as a mop up guy if the game gets out of hand later on.
Middle relief - Called upon for the 5th, 6th and/or 7th inning.
Setup relief - Called upon for the 8th inning of a close game. Also used in the 9th of a tie game or if losing a close game. Used as backup closer when the regular guy is fatigued.
Closer - Used for 9th inning when team is winning by 3 or fewer runs. I also try to ensure he pitches at least every 3rd game no matter what.
Here are some examples:
1) Standard 5 man rotation
2 x Long relief
3 x middle relief
2 x setup relief
1 x closer
2) 4 man rotation
3 x Long relief
3 x middle relief
2 x setup relief
1 x closer
3) 4 man rotation with opener
1 x opener slot
3 x Long relief
2 x middle relief
2 x setup relief
1 x closer
4) 5 man rotation with closer by committee
2 x Long relief
3 x middle relief
3 x setup relief
