This thread will be a continuation of my Bowling Green Dynasty that just finished season 2. Coach Ricky Rahne has taken the head job at Ole Miss. The Rebels are coming off a 1-11 season, recruiting is an absolute mess, and fans are desperate for new life to be injected in to the program. It's time to Lock The Vaught!

Ole Miss football has a rich history. Aside from arguably the best tailgating in football, Ole Miss claims 3 national titles (1959, 1960, and 1962), and 6 conference titles (1947, 1954, 1955, 1960, 1962, 1963). While we are 50 years removed from the greatest successes of this program, the Rebels have had some great success in recent years. In 2015, the Rebels finished the season 10-3 with a Sugar Bowl victory over Oklahoma State.

Random Injury Generation

As I said earlier, I am going to be implementing a random injury generator this season because I literally did not have one last season. I will explain how this works here. But first, a little data. After some research, the chance of being injured in a football practice is .05%. In competition, it is 4%.

To simulate practice injuries, a number between 1 and 200 will be drawn from a random number generator 4 separate times (for 4 practices during the week). If the number 100 is drawn, a player is injured in practice. To determine who that player is, a number between 1 and 70 is drawn. The number corresponds to the players spot on the "edit roster" tab of the game. So, the lower the number, the higher the player's overall is who gets injured.
I will cover how I am choosing the injury the player receives at the end.

To simulate game injuries, a number between 1 and 100 will be drawn. If 20, 40, 60, or 80 are drawn, a player is injured during the game. If a player is injured during the game, a number between 1 and 4 is drawn to determine what quarter the player is hurt in. Further, a number between 1 and 22 is drawn to determine which starter is hurt. 1-11 are offense, 12-22 are defense.

Another number between 1 and 100 will be drawn to determine how much time is missed by the player.
One Drive = 10% (1-10)
Rest of Game = 19% (11-29)
3-6 Days = 31% (30-60) (Draw a number between 3 and 6)
1 game = 10% (61-70)
2 games = 10% (71-80)
3 to 6 Weeks = 15% (81-95) (Draw a number between 3 and 6)
7 to 8 Weeks = 3% (96-98) (Draw a number between 7 and 8)
Season = 2% (99-100)

If a player is injured in practice and a 1-29 is drawn, then he will still be able to play in the game. If a 30-60 is drawn and the player misses 3-6 days, it is possible he can return in time for the game. For example, if a 100 is drawn in the first draw from 200 (Tuesday practice) and then a 3 is drawn for the number of days, the player will be healthy on Saturday.

2020 Recruiting

The Ole Miss Rebels ended up signing the number 76 recruiting class in the country this year, which one could consider a border line miracle. When Ricky Rahne arrived in Oxford, the Rebels had just 6 recruits committed to the program. Rahne and his staff pulled in 19 total recruits. A few of these players could end up contributing next season, but Rahne will need to recruit incredibly well in the coming years to get the Rebels back in the national spotlight.

Meet The Coaches

Offensive coordinator Chad Scott joins the staff from West Virginia University where he served as offensive coordinator for two seasons. Prior to his stop at WVU, Scott was the tight ends coach at North Carolina from 2016-2018. Scott coached at Kentucky for 3 years from 2013-2015. From 2010 to 2012 Scott served as the running backs coach at Texas Tech. From 2007-2009 his first full time coaching role was the running backs at Troy University. Scott began his career as a graduate assistant at North Carolina in 2006. Scott is highly regarded as a recruiter, and brings a wealth of experience and ideas to the Ole Miss offense.



Defensive coordinator Lance Anderson joins Ole Miss from Stanford where he served as defensive coordinator. Anderson was on staff at Stanford for 16 years. Anderson was on the staff in San Diego that made the transition when Jim Harbaugh was hired to coach the Cardinal. Prior to joining Harbaugh in San Diego, Anderson had coached at Utah State, Saint Mary’s, Bucknell and Idaho State. A native of Rupert, Idaho, Anderson began his coaching career in 1997 at his alma mater, Idaho State, where he spent two seasons.
