"Under the hood" conspiracy theories

This thread is for anything that you speculate affects the mechanics of the game from behind the scenes that has never been confirmed/widely reported. It can be anything from little known tricks like deadening bunts to the biggest tin foil hat theories you can think of.

-I think pitching motions have hidden ratings and/or boosts/buffs with different pitches, i.e., sliders with Andrew Miller's motion get a boost while splitters get a buff, or legend motion X performs better than generic motion X

-Same goes for batting stances

-I believe the sim engine gives boosts to offensive consistency for players with higher defensive/overall ratings. I've seen great defenders with offense in the mid 40s-mid 50s consistently outperform defensive liabilities with ratings in the 60s-70s

-players progress faster if they fail at a higher level and go back down and succeed than if they just stayed at the level they were successful at

Hhmmm! LOL!

But I’ll tell you this though, for me that I play always on Classic Pitching and Directional Hitting is always about release and stride timing on animations!

I thought the stance one was confirmed. Anyone ever hit an outside pitch with Dustin Ackley or Aristides Aquino?

Where did you see/hear this confirmed? And how much does this influence the stances of players in your roster?

I’ve had an itch about stances affecting contact for a few years now. A good example are the follow throughs. Players with the little roll over swing (mainly contact hitters) seem to have 0 exit velocity.

In my franchise I’m 25 games in. Through 13-14 games with Dansby Swanson I was hitting right at .200 with hardly any pop. I’ve since switched his stance to one I like a bit more with the longer two handed swing and he’s since hit just first 2 HR as well as 4 more XBH

Re: "Under the hood" conspiracy theories

I have no idea what would be effecting what I have seen in both 19 and 20 but I have noticed very consistently when I or the cpu gets the first 2 outs in an inning that way too many times there are 2 out hits or walks to spark a rally . I have been surprised actually that nobody else has said anything about this, but I see it a ton .
