Questions on My Team

I have some questions on how to play better against online. I can smoke the computer on Superstar level, but I can't even stay close online.

First thing that I'd love info on is the matchmaking. I played an Unlimtited match where the guy had 5 starting galaxy opals and then the rest of his team was 69. My best player was a 91/92. Is it better to not have a bench and just play your best five in hopes to drive the team overall down? I am assuming that team overall is what drives matchmaking?

On Triple Threat Online.. how is the matchmaking?

The other main issue I have is shooting (I think the timing is the lag, and I suppose I just have to get used to it). Every team I play shoots lights out from 3 and if I go out and guard they blow by. But then when I blow by, it's like the kick in some animation so instead of dunking I take a contested layup? Is there something I am missing?

I am guessing that I just need to play more to get better, but any advice would be appreciated
